Assassin’s Creed 3 Metacritic review score flux

By tomorrow, Assassin’s Creed 3 will be available on Xbox and PS3 in both America and Europe, and we are intrigued to know how it has been perceived in reviews, as we are under the impression there have been some varied views and scores given. We are sure this iteration in the Assassins franchise will have many pros and cons although there is an expectation that the good parts outweigh the bad, even if Metacritic review score shows a flux.

The user score of 7.4 out of 10 is based on mixed or average reviews on 27 ratings and as far as the critics review on a positive 85 has been awarded, although looking at the user reviews scores, marks as high as 10 have been documented with others as low as 0. In an extensive review by Golden 4 Games, they have rated Assassin’s Creed 3 a brilliant 9 overall with high scores for each individual element of the game, and the lowest rating of 7 was given for the AI, as this aspect showed enemies to be rather weak when it comes to fighting battles.

That being the only negative they found, the game is regarded as fun with a captivating story, and they especially enjoyed watching Connor grow into a professional assassin. A brief review by Techod highlighted the graphics and gameplay, and enjoyed the numerous modifications to the combat system, everything from dual-wielding weapons and human shields to the ability to assassinate while running are gratefully recieved. The protagonist feels new and not just a re-vamp of Altair or Ezio, and when it comes to the graphics, this game is naturally stunning, boasting great environmental changes that have an affect on the way you play, along with the great locations of Boston and New York.

In yesterdays post we spoke about how many reviews have failed to mention bugs, and without trying to spoil anything there have been reports that the ending is not as good as we hoped to expect. Many reviews have praised the combat system, the navel battles and immersive environments giving us reason to believe this is the best game of the franchise, although some negativity has surrounded the problems with bugs that have been noted on a few sites, but we are hoping the day 1 patch is a solution for these issues. With that in mind, a day 1 patch is not good news, as this shows buggy games a still being sold, and even though some refer to the bugs as similar to that experienced in other AC titles, this is still not welcoming news.

Some players have suggested that the ending is similar to that of Mass Effect 3, although no real details have been divulged as to not spoil things. This is where our latest post is relative, as the Assassin’s Creed 3 patch notes are said to reveals spoilers and those who don’t want to see them are informed to download the day 1 patch, but try not to read any of the notes. As we try our best not to divulge too much information, we hope to see some more Assassin’s Creed 3 reviews from the big players like IGN over the coming weeks. Regardless of the bugs which will hopefully be rectified, have you experienced any other issues in the game? Maybe you are too busy enjoying what looks to be the best Assassin’s Creed game to date.

On the shipping buggy games thing, I think it’s semi deliberate to help against leaking the game early.
