XCOM: Enemy Unknown success assures DLC for 2013

The success of XCOM: Enemy Unknown has shown this genre of gaming is accumulating plenty of attention assuring more upcoming DLC has been promised in 2013. This is great news for fans, as 2K Games has plans for more content adding to the longevity to an already popular title. As turn-based strategy games like Enemy Unknown highlight how much we miss them, this is the ideal way to remind publishers and developers of how good they are, and why they should entertain more of these games in the future.

There has been two packs revealed to date, and these are known as the Elite Solider Pack, which is accessible now and the upcoming Slingshot Content Pack. In an article on CVG, they mention 2K Games has more DLC to come in the new year, and they also document how 2K regards “Enemy Unknown as a critical and commercial success.” New Council missions are contained in the Slingshot Content Pack and this is said involve the introduction to “an enigmatic Triad operative,” divert an alien ship’s course, as well as entering into battle with the aliens in the skies over China. Apparently, there will be three new maps on offer, although there has been no time or price given for its official release.
