No Skyrim Dawnguard on PS3 prior to Christmas
As the lack of Skyrim Dawnguard on the PlayStation 3 is continuing to infuriate many Sony gamers there is not much confidence that it will come this side of Christmas and the less optimistic feel that it might no come at all. An update on the approximate timeline or any information on how its coming along has been a bug many PS3 owners have had to bare with Bethesda, and the fact that they have remained rather quiet on this makes us feel they are not any closer to completing it.
If they were making progress with either Dawnguard, Hearthfire or Dragonborn DLC we would expect news of this to be prominent thus upping the lack of communication we are now experiencing. The whole situation is becoming tiresome, as many gamers gave up hope months ago, and their attitude to Bethesda has caused them to contemplate not investing in anything with the name attached.
A few days ago, we spoke about a minority of PS3 gamers moving over to other platforms in a quest to obtain the elusive DLC, but we feel this is rather extreme, thus wasting money on more Bethesda merchandise backing what seems to be an exclusive DLC at the moment. Originally, players of other platforms sympathized with gamers that have been waiting for this content, but now feel that they might as well give up on it, although some confirmation from Bethesda that it is not coming would give those in waiting a reason to move on and disregard anything to do with Bethesda in the future.
The ongoing saga will continue until gamers get what they deserve and that is all three DLCs, especially the first one. We can’t see too many PS3 owners abandoning their console for downloadable content from one title, we understand that Skyrim has accumulated fans that want what is on offer, and deserve regular updates on why it is not here. Some optimistic gamers still hold hope for the content to arrive and now would be the idea time in the lead up to Christmas, but we cannot see any light in the tunnel at the moment, so we looked at ways Bethesda could compensate Skyrim fans with hints of free or heavily discounted DLC when it eventually gets here.
If the DLC arrived before Christmas, Bethesda could undo some of the damage with Dawnguard as a gift to accompany the festive spirit, although this is just wishful thinking. If the first DLC was released before Christmas would you be more inclined to give Bethesda another chance? Alternatively are just waiting to obtain the content before you turn your back on Bethesda for good?
