Bracing for Galaxy S4 vs. iPhone 6 release dates

With the new Galaxy S4 expected to be unveiled at this week’s New York event it seems this new device will be set to compete with the likes of Apple’s iPhone 6, so we are intrigued whether Samsung’s S4 will eclipse the iPhone.

As Apple devices remain at the high end of the market, Samsung sells more smartphones than any manufacturer, and their flagship Galaxy S franchise is gaining ground on the iPhone. In an article on The Guardian they show the specs of both devices and mention how the battle with Apple is about to get even more heated, while forecasters feel this device is catching up with the iPhone.

According to Francisco Jeronimo from analysis firm IDC, “Apple is not the one leading the market,” and that it would not come as a surprise if the new Samsung device sells more than the new Apple iPhone over the coming years.

We are also under the impression Samsung are putting all their resources into developing a device that will be able to predict users choice by track the movement of their eyes and this technology will be able to access the screen and pause video with simple eye movements.

This feature has prompted trademarks such as functions called “eye scroll” and “eye pause“, registered by Samsung in Europe at the beginning of the year. It seems Samsung’s plans for their handset are “enormous” according to Peter Misek at Jefferies bank and their ambition could pose a serious marketing threat to Apple.

Apparently, Apple has brought forward the launch of its latest phone, although it has been suggested that since the loss of Steve Jobs, Apple has lost some of their impact and plenty of negativity is starting to surround their brand, although we can expect the next iPhone will show us how they have stepped up to the plate.

What are you views on the upcoming devices? Do you like the idea of predicted actions for screen use with eye movements?
