With North Korea posing a considerable threat as a world superpower their neighbours South Korea have a secret weapon of their own. Due to his fame as an internet sensation with chart topping single Gangnam Style, PSY’s follow up tune ‘Gentleman’ looks set to be another big hit.

PSY's follow up tune 'Gentleman' is another YouTube sensation

In all fairness, PSY is not exactly a secret weapon considering the effect he has had on the world, especially on the internet, so it’s nice to see him return with another humorous music video expected to storm the net once again. Highlighting the new video Kotaku talk about the online attention it is already receiving even though the video itself has been banned on the Korean Broadcasting System.

Within the first six seconds of PSY’s Gentleman video you see him walking down the street and kick a traffic cone, which is reason enough for this to get banned from Korea’s biggest television network. PSY from the Gangnam District in South Korea shot to fame when “Gangnam Style” exceeded one billion views on YouTube, as the first and currently only video to do so in the website’s history.

While we wait to see if his new music video can become as popular, it’s worth considering whether this ban from Korean TV could slow down the chance to emulate this feat, especially when you think about the kind of things that have been left in music videos over the years. We understand that kicking a traffic cone can be regarded as loutish behaviour, therefore, it seems that this is viewed as condoning destruction of public property, which could be classed as a negative influence on society.

The kicking of traffic cones seems a bit of an unusual reason to ban a video, it’s not like he urinated in it or put it on his head, or both. PSY’s “Gentleman” video has already surpassed 100 million views on YouTube, so we have embedded the video below for those who haven’t seen it yet, although his familiar style gives us the feeling the originality of Gangnam is hard to beat. Do you think PSY will prove once again he is the “King of YouTube”?
