Star Wars: Episode 7 cast insight at D23

The upcoming D23 Expo will be the ideal event for Disney and Lucasfilm to tout the return of the Star Wars franchise making a comeback with the next trilogy expected to hit theaters in 2015. The D23 event running from August 9-11 will take place at the Anaheim Convention Center, and this will be the ideal place to promote the re-emergence of this popular franchise among enthusiasts.

Star Wars fans will be able to check out Disney planned events like Darth Vader: The Evolution of a Villain, giving us more details on the development of the iconic villain. An article on Hollywood Reporter suggests the possibility of some Star Wars cast members making an appearance, and hints have been made about a confirmation of characters appearing in J.J. Abrams-directed sequel trilogy.

While some fans feel this will not be apparent, we are keeping our fingers crossed in regards to the actors lined up for Episode 7 being revealed.

In other Star Wars news, Indie Wire documents analyst predictions about a $1.2 box office expectation for the next film, also highlighting Disney box office losses from both John Carter and The Lone Ranger. With a tight grip on the Star Wars franchise there are high expectations for Disney to come up with a film that will not only bring in the majority of Star Wars fans, but also entice and introduce more newcomers to the franchise.

Regardless of the negatives surrounding John Carter and The Lone Ranger, the acquisition of Star Wars has benefited Disney’s stock prices and that along with merchandising will accumulate plenty of dollars in profit, and that’s just the expectation from Episode 7 alone.
