Rundown of Star Wars: Episode 7 prospects

Up until last year many Star Wars fans thought the prequel trilogy was the end of this movie franchise tying up the first three films and providing a background to the emerging characters. Then Disney brokered a $4.05 billion deal to obtain Lucasfilm thus prompting an announcement that the series will continue. We have been taking a look at some of the latest news for Star Wars: Episode 7, therefore we thought a rundown of different prospects for cast and other rumours was in order.

While fans of the franchise welcome news that the series will continue, plenty of questions have been asked about the direction this will continue in, as well as the plot and cast. From what we know Episode 7 looks set to bring back some classic characters with news of Ford, Fisher and Hamill reprising their roles and legendary composer John Williams will also be returning to do the score.

This news has been reported regularly over the last couple of months and while we wait patiently for more fresh news we thought it would be a good idea to provide a link to Cinema Blend, as their in-depth article runs through some of what we know already, along with more rumours and suggestions from fans trying to influence the powers that be into making another film or trilogy that will do justice to the Star Wars legacy.

Throughout their article they discuss new Star Wars director J.J. Abrams being confirmed along with writer Michael Arndt, as well as how production will start next year in the UK and news that Episode 7 will come out in the summer of 2015. In addition, some fan favourites like Boba Fett could be returning but in spin-off movies that have already been discussed, although we are unsure if the likes of Yoda, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Emperor Palpatine will be making a comeback in Episode 7.

Many fans are more concerned with the plot and new characters and we have heard descriptions of desired candidates for the casting of younger characters, which could be the children of Han Solo, Leia and possibly Luke.

In an interesting article on The Inquisitr they mention how Star Trek’s Spock will not be involved in J.J. Abrams version of Star Wars and by Spock we mean the recent character played by Zachary Quinto. We felt we had to mention Quinto by name, as the original Spock has also been talking about wanting to play a part in J.J. Abrams new film.

On the Screen Crush website they discuss potential candidates for the roles of Luke and Han Solo’s children speculating on certain younger actors who they feel would be ideal for these parts. Without providing suggestions we would love to know who you think would be suitable for the roles of Luke and Han Solo’s kids. Maybe you have a few plausible ideas which could carry on throughout the trilogy.
