White House Down release date on Blu-ray, DVD

This year’s top American action film White House Down is based around an assault on the White House by a paramilitary group, while a policeman who was recently turned down by the Secret Service tries to put a stop to it. The release of White House Down starring Channing Tatum and Jamie Foxx is expected to arrive on DVD sometime soon, although from what we are hearing we could be waiting a couple more months.

According to reports the Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital release will not be coming until November 5, and Sony Pictures Home Entertainment made an announcement this week confirming its arrival. As Cinema Blend documents the November arrival on DVD they also discuss their initial expectations about this movie not doing so well at the box office resulting in a lack of success.

Some suggest that Olympus Has Fallen is a similar action flick and this has not done White House Down any favours, and although this film has seemed to have passed many avid movie-goers by, the upcoming DVD release could accumulate the kind of audience that was lacking at the cinemas.

The Blu-ray version is said to contain nine exclusive featurettes, although we are unsure how long they are. The aforementioned website has provided a list of the exclusive bonus material expected on the Blu-ray release which includes a gag reel and more insight into the film, the actors and the characters they play.

With this in mind, we would like to know if you saw a trailer of this and thought I’ll wait for the DVD to come out. Alternatively, we would love your opinion on the White House Down if you did see it at the cinema.
