New Rio 2 trailer lands on YouTube

As far as sequels are concerned people remain sceptical that they rarely pack the same punch as the original, but if we look at another animated franchise that has done really well this year we are hoping Rio 2 will have the same effect as Despicable Me 2 had. As a new trailer lands on YouTube we get to see some of those captivating visuals and amazing crowd scenes that give us that bright vibrant feel of Brazil, but we are intrigued whether this continuation will be a watered down version of the original.

With director Carlos Saldanha back at the helm both Anne Hathaway and Jesse Eisenberg reprise their roles of Jewel and Blu who reside in the colourful town of Rio de Janeiro. The story is about how Jewel decides her children should be experiencing real bird life, and they move to the Amazon.

In a similar fashion to the first film where Blu has to adapt to a new life, this time he will be experiencing this once again with his family in tow and a whole host of new characters. With the likes of Andy Garcia, Jamie Foxx, John Leguizamo, and Bruno Mars as part of the cast list we are expecting this will be a decent sequel.

The new trailer seen below gives us some insight into what is involved, and Rio 2 is scheduled to arrive at theatres in April 11, 2014 in 3D, so we would love to know whether you have seen the original and whether you expect this sequel to be even better.
