Red Rising gains Marc Forster at helm

The highly praised novel Red Rising penned by Pierce Brown, and recently released that has been compared to the likes of The Hunger Games series and Enders Game is to be the next movie project of producers Joe Roth and Palak Patel, both of which are responsible for Maleficent and Oz the Great and Powerful.

Now the word is that World War Z helmer Marc Forster is to direct the Sci-fi action thriller Red Rising movie, and that two unnamed studios are about to enter talks with a view to acquire the movie reports Cinema Blend.

The Red Rising novel centres around a teenager that lives underground on the planet Mars who is known as Darrow. He works with the rest of the lower tier people that are known as Reds.

Darrow believes he is working to make the surface of Mars habitable, but then finds out that the surface already has huge buildings across the planet that are habited by the upper class and have been for a long time.

This realisation caused Darrow to take on the institute where the ruling Gold class members are sussed out, and Darrow will upend his own ideals and morals to take down the superior class. Of course no word on just when Red Rising the movie will be hitting cinemas, as it is early days.
