The Flintstones new animated movie on the cards
Many will remember the animated television series featuring Fred and Wilma along with Barney and Betty in The Flintstones, and we have already had a live-action Flintstones movie back in 1994 with John Goodman taking on the lead role as Fred Flintstone. But it appears it is time for another Flintstones movie.
Warner Bros has two animated projects that are scheduled for release in 2017 and 2018, and now the word is one of those animated projects could be a new animated feature of The Flintstones, reports Cinema Blend.
Word is that writer/producer Chris Henchy is on-board to pen the script, whilst his partners Adam McKay and Will Ferrell at Gary Sanchez Productions will produce the project.
The Flintstones animated series ran from 1960 to 1966, and was created by Hanna-Barbera, and was the first animated effort to be nominated for a prime-time Emmy for a comedy series.
As I am sure you know, The Flintstones focused on the lives of Fred and Wilma Flintstone along with their friends and neighbours Barney and Betty Rubble, and no doubt the Warner Bros animation will follow the same basic formula of the original cartoon.
Obviously the new The Flintstones animation is in the early stages, and as such there is no world on who will voice the cartoon characters, and considering the above expected released dates, it will be quite some time before we get to see anything from the project…more as and when we hear.
