Original Ghostbuster thinks female Ghostbusters is bad idea
With the official announcement that Paul Feig will helm the third Ghosbusters movie along with the new movie said to feature female Ghostbusters. And along with several fans of the movies, one original Ghostbuster thinks that lady Ghostbusters is a bad idea.
That original Ghostbuster is Ernie Hudson, who played Winston Zeddemore in the original films, and has stated that if the third movie is all female, and has nothing to do with the other two movies, why are they calling it Ghostbusters, reports the Telegraph.
Here’s what Ernie Hudson had to say on the matter… “I heard it was going to be a total reboot, and that it would have nothing to do with the other two movies. If it has nothing to do with the other two movies, and it’s all female, then why are you calling it Ghostbusters?”
The actor does believe going this route with a third Ghostbusters film is a bad idea, “I love females. I hope that if they go that way at least they’ll be funny, and if they’re not funny at least hopefully it’ll be sexy. I love the idea of including women, I think that’s great. But all-female I think would be a bad idea. I don’t think the fans want to see that.”
Hudson did intimate that the new Ghostbusters movie might be amazing but should include ‘the guys’ and him… “Maybe it will come out and be the most amazing thing, but in my opinion I think it would be wrong to do another movie that didn’t include the guys. And that didn’t include me!”
Thus it appears that Ernie Hudson is somewhat against an all female Ghostbusters 3, but the big question is, do Ghostbusters fans agree or disagree?
