Sherlock special gets a title air date and new trailer

Fans of hit television series Sherlock know that a one-off special is due to arrive this holiday season; however it wasn’t known when the special would air, or what title it would have, until now of course.

Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman can be next seen as Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson in the one-off special set in Victorian times, and the BBC has now taken to their Twitter account to reveal the title and air date along with a new trailer.

The BBC tweeted a new image for one-off special (above) and will be called Sherlock: The Abominable Bride, and will air on New Year’s Day on BBC One of course, and they also announced that the fourth series of Sherlock will kick off filming in the spring, tweeting…


“Series 4 of #Sherlock will start shooting next spring. Steven Moffat and @Markgatiss are busy writing away right now.”

The new Sherlock special trailer can be viewed below, although fans have seen the footage in the previous trailer, but it does give confirmation of the title and air date, as the special will for the first time air in both the UK and the USA on the same day.
