Indiana Jones 5 wont recast Indy confirms producer

At some point in the future there will be probably be a fifth installment in the Indiana Jones franchise, and there has been much debate in the past on whether this will happen. Most recently Steven Spielberg stated he’d probably do an Indy 5 with Harrison Ford, and if fans were worried that when it comes to Indiana Jones 5 the production might recast Indy, then you have nothing to worry about.

During a recent interview Frank Marshall, who has served as producer on every Indiana Jones movie thus far has confirmed that when it comes to Indiana Jones 5 Harrison Ford wont be replaced reports Cinema Blend.

In the past there have been rumours of potentially recasting Indy for the fifth movie including the possibility of Chris Pratt taking on the iconic role, but Marshall says they wont be taking the same route as the Bond movies and recasting the main character.

Here’s what Frank Marshall had to say on the matter… “Not doing the Bond thing where we’re going to call somebody else Indiana Jones… we have to figure this out.”

However, that confirms that no one else will play Indiana Jones, it doesn’t rule out someone else taking on the lead role in a new movie, just that they wouldn’t play Indiana Jones, so there could be a passing of the baton at some point.

Harrison Ford has reprized his Han Solo role for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, so it proves that he isn’t too old to play iconic characters, so there’s always a chance that Ford will take up the whip once again for Indiana Jones 5, something that as a fan of the movies would please me no end.
