Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 cast expands with mystery role

When it comes to the sequel to the Marvel hit Guardians of the Galaxy, is was revealed a while back that the sequel wouldn’t introduce many new characters as James Gun wants the core group to bet more personal time.

However, that doesn’t mean there wont be any new characters in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2, and the latest word is one such character has now been cast. The new character is a mystery role, and one that called for an Asian actress.

According to a report by Joblo, that mystery role has now been cast with relatively unknown actress Pom Klementeiff having been nabbed for the role as an unknown character, and that the actress has done several rounds of chemistry reads for the part.

The Quebec born 29 year old actress has mostly acted in French movies, however the actress made her Hollywood debut in Spike Lee’s remake of Oldboy

Furthermore, the article goes on to state that Gunn and Marvel were hoping to get Matthew McConaughey to play the villain in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2, but McConaughey decided it wasn’t for him so passed on the role, which means the production is still searching for its villain.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 will see the return of Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, and Karen Gillan, along with Bradley Cooper’s Rocket the Raccoon and Vin Diesel’s Groot, and is scheduled for release on the 28th of April 2017 in the UK and on the 5th of May in the USA…more as and when we hear.
