Tim Brabants wins men’s K1 1000m: Britain’s 18th Gold


Tim Brabants has won Britain’s 18th Gold ate the Beijing Olympics by powering to a superb victory in the men’s K1 1000m. Brabants dominated the race from the start; he finished the race almost a boats length in front of Erik Veraas Larsen, the defending champion. (read more…)

USA Wins Men’s Beach Volleyball: Second Gold Medal for sport


USA has got a lot to smile about as they have won the men’s beach volleyball, making it two gold medals in the sport for the U.S. team. Phil Dalhausser and Todd Rogers beat Brazil’s Marcio and Fabio 2-1 (23-21, 17-21, 15-4). The USA women’s team had also won the Olympic gold, beating China. (read more…)

Gary Glitter back in Britain: Taxpayers to pay £250,000 a year


Gary Glitter has now arrived back in Britain and will be met by at least 35 policemen. Glitter, real name Paul Francis Gadd had hoped to avoid entering Britain, but as no other country would allow him in he had no choice but to return home. (read more…)

U.S. softball team upset as Japan win 3-1


It has been a time of upset for the U.S. as there softball team have lost 3-1 to Japan as well as the men and women being disqualified in the 4×100 relay. Losing the softball has been the biggest upset to the U.S. Olympic squad, but this could have a great affect on future Olympic Games.

As the U.S. has lost to Japan people are hoping that it might help advance softball in the Olympics as the U.S. has normally dominated. (read more…)

Chinese underage gymnasts claims sparks of investigation


There are reports that the International Olympic Committee has launched a probe into the claims that the Chinese gymnasts were underage. This comes after documents were found raising questions about their eligibility.

He Kexin has been feted after winning the individual and team gold, many believe that she is only 14 but she still maintains that she is 16. The ages of her team mates Jiang Yuyuan and Yang Yilin have also come into question. (read more…)

Chris Hoy wins third gold: Britain third at Beijing Olympics


Chris Hoy has now won his third gold at the Beijing Olympics by beating teammate Jason Kenny in the final of the men’s sprint. This is now the third gold medal that Team GB has won on Super Tuesday.

Usain Bolt Video of World Record 100 meter sprint


It was no surprise that Usain Bolt, the Jamaican sprinter won the 100 meter sprint taking gold as well as setting a new world record, and we have a video from the BBC showing us how easy he made it.
