Women’s Olympic Soccer Result: U.S. beat Canada 2-1


The U.S. Women’s Olympic Soccer team has beaten Canada 2-1; it took Natasha Kai 11 minutes in extra time taking the U.S. team into the semifinal. The game was a long one, as well as being delayed for two hours due to heavy rain. (read more…)

Usain Bolt and Asafa Powell issue warning to Tyson Gay


As I watched the second round of the Olympic 100 meters earlier today I noticed one thing, Jamaican sprinters Usain Bolt and Asafa Powell were just coasting to the finish line. Tyson Gay looked as though he was working harder to get to the finish line. It seems that the Jamaicans have issued the American sprinter a warning. (read more…)

Paula Patton’s performance in Mirrors is nothing special


Paula Patton stars in Mirrors a remake of a Korean movie called Into the Mirror, her performance in the movie is nothing special. Verizon Adds 21 New Channels including HD to FiOS TV Lineup


Verizon FiOS TV is now even better for customers in the Richmond and Virginia Beach areas as the company is launching 21 new channels, including 16 additional high-definition (HD) channels. As a result of this enhancement to the FiOS TV lineup, Verizon is now offering consumers here more HD than Comcast and Cox.

FiOS TV customers in the area now have more than 450 HD choices available at any time, with a total of 45 HD channels and more than 400 HD video-on-demand (VOD) titles offered each month. Verizon will continue expanding its FiOS TV channel lineup this year, with a major focus on HD content. By year-end, Verizon will offer all available major HD programming. (read more…)

Nastia Lukin wins gold with Shawn Johnson taking silver

China could end U.S. domination Summer Olympics

Watching the first Olympic 100-meter heat was like watching runners on auto pilot as Bolt, Powell and Gay made it easily through. Tyson Gay was running for the first time since his hamstring injury six weeks ago, he coasted to the finish in a time of 10.22. (read more…)

Federer beaten by Blake: No gold for world No. 1


Tennis world No. 1 Roger Federer’s Olympic Gold hopes were left in tatters after he lost to American James Blake. Blake has now progressed to the semifinals of the singles competition at Beijing beating Federer 6-4, 7-6 (2). (read more…)

Liu Zige wins women’s 200 fly: China’s first swimming gold


Liu Zige did two things when she won the women’s 200 meters butterfly final, firstly she smashed the world record and secondly she won China’s first swimming gold. It was a one-two finish for China as team mate Jiao Liuyang claimed the silver. (read more…)
