Glastonbury Festival has opened today with 3,000 tickets still up for grabs which has never happened before in a decade. Last year all 140,000 tickets were snapped up in just two hours, but this year just 100,000 went on the opening day and organisers have struggled to shift the remaining 35,000. (read more…)

It has just been announced that Boy George’s North American summer tour is in doubt after U.S. authorities refused to issue him a visa, citing looming legal issues overseas. It has been announced that nothing will stop Amy Winehouse from playing at Nelson Mandela’s gig on Friday night. According to reports Amy left hospital yesterday for rehearsals, before returning on doctors’ advice. A source said that “Amy doesn’t want to cancel - it’s keeping her going. She begged the doctors to let her out to rehearse. She went into the studio for a few hours and sang her heart out. She sounded amazing. As we know Amy Winehouse is currently in hospital and is so desperate to perform at Nelson Mandela’s 90th Birthday Concert and Glastonbury that she plans to play through the pain barrier. Fragile Amy is so determined not to let her supporters down, or miss out on the chance to play for her most famous fan at Friday’s gig in London’s Hyde Park. It has been announced that Lil Wayne’s new CD has sold a spectacular 1 million copies its first week. “Tha Carter III” is easily the best selling first week of the year, according to Nielsen SoundScan figures. Lil Wayne is regarded as one of rap’s most gifted performers but he’s never had a multiplatinum album. His last two albums, “Tha Carter” and “Tha Carter II,” sold 1.1 million and 1.4 million copies, respectively. “Tha Carter III” was anticipated as the CD that would send the New Orleans rapper into superstardom. Last night Kanye West’s late night performance at Bonnaroo was delayed for nearly two hours angered the crowd who were said to be chanting “Kanye sucks”. Kanye West was scheduled to take the main stage at the Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival at 2:45 a.m. on Sunday morning. While thousands of fans waited, a message on the jumbotrons told them that Kanye’s show would be delayed until 3:15 a.m but again did not happen but he did hit the stage at 4:25 a.m. better late then never I suppose.
