Alexei Cherepanov, the 19-year old Russian forward, who was a Rangers first-round draft choice back in 2007 has sadly died on Monday. The top prospect collapsed towards the end of the game which was with his team K.H.L. team Avangard Omsk and another team, Vityaz, in Chekhov. (read more…)

Clemson has decided that he no longer wants the services of Tigers Coach, Tommy Bowden, so has fired him. This is just four days after the Tigers were defeated by to Wake Forest and fell to 3-3, Clemson just had enough. (read more…)

Charlie Manuel, the manager of Philadelphia Phillies mother has died, she passed away this morning. He still plans to be in the dugout this afternoon for Game 2 of the NLCS. His mother June was 87, she died in Roanoke (Va.) Memorial Hospital after being admitted with a brief illness. (read more…)

Tony Franklin has been fired by Auburn coach Tommy Tuberville, the offensive coordinator has been fired just seven games in to his tenure. Tuberville has said that he has not been satisfied with the progress being made on offense. (read more…)

MLB Network and ESPN have announced that they are to show the entire 39 World Baseball Classic games, this will start from March 5 to 23 in 2009. ESPN will show 23 of the classic games from the tournament; this includes semifinal and final games, across ESPN and ESPN2. (read more…)

Despite their injuries Steelers managed to beat the Ravens 23-20. It was a shock that the Pittsburgh Steelers were able to pull out a win, considering they played terrible for most of the three quarters. The win makes them first place in the AFC North. (read more…)

It looks as though the Cubs expect Carlos Zambrano to miss the only one start following an MRI. The test revealed that Zambrano has an inflammation and rotator cuff tendinitis in his right shoulder. He has had an anti-inflammatory injection, which should hopefully ease the pain. (read more…)

Olympic hero Michael Phelps has made an amazing announcement, he is to start a swimming foundation. Phelps used part of his $1 million bonus for tying Mark Spitz’s seven gold medals. He hopes that the money will be able to encourage the growth of swimming. (read more…)
