Alan Carr’s husband drunkenly reversing into a police vehicle, narrowly missing a mother pushing her pram, a court heard.
Paul Drayton was accused of being four-times over the drink-drive limit when it came to striking the woman in West Sussex in his Mitsubishi 4×4 last month.
The 50-year old, who has been married since 2018 to the TV comedian, denies the accusation, claiming that he wasn’t behind the wheel during the near miss, according to the Sun.

Drayton is charged with driving with 153mcg of alcohol in 100ml of breath – well over the limit of 35mcg – though he also claims the breathalyser machine was not working properly.
According to the Sun, prosecutor David Holman told the court: “The officer says there was a strong smell of intoxicating liquor.
“The driver was not stable on his feet at the time and had poor coordination.
“His speech was slurred and his eyes were glazed.”
The case was adjourned to November 23rd, when it will be heard at Brighton magistrates court.
