Within minutes of Meat Loaf’s apparent death from COVID-19 on Thursday, people took to Twitter to mock his opposition to vaccine mandates and opposing masks.
Meat Loaf’s family and representatives have so far not confirmed either his cause of death or his vaccination status, but TMZ cited sources saying that he was ‘seriously ill with COVID’ when he passed.
Many critics disagreed with the mandates that the famous singer had sworn to oppose, so they assumed he was not vaccinated and used the occasion to mock him.
‘In the end, he finally let us know what that one thing was that he wouldn’t do for love: Get vaccinated,’ tweeted Gene Wu, a Democrat in the Texas state House of Representatives, referring to the lyrics of I’d Do Anything For Love (But I Won’t Do That).
A Twitter user also tweeted: “Meat Loaf would love anything except getting vaccinated”,

Brianna Wu, a progressive activist tweeted that she was not going to mention the fact that he was anti-mask science denier and had suffered from severe Covid. We won’t mention how he used his public platform in order to promote disregard for precautions. We are wishing his family and friends comfort.
‘But I think it’s entirely ethical to mock public figures who engage in destructive behavior with Covid and then die,’ added Wu.
Tech culture journalist Xeni Jardin tweeted that Meat Loaf ‘was a pandemic a**hole.’
“If you are and were a fan?” It’s not insulting to your love. But the dude was a d*** about the pandemic. Sounds like he f***ed around and found out,’ added Jardin.
Joy Ann Reid, MSNBC’s host, was less circumspect. She paid tribute to Meat Loaf in Rocky Horror Picture Show. Joy Ann called it ‘gloriously silly and rude fun!
She also said: “His views about COVID vaccination mandates feel like another cautionary story, but I will simply leave it at RIP. Condolences.”
Marvin Lee Aday, the singer was born Marvin Lee Aday and died on Thursday. He had suffered many health problems in recent years.
Pearl shared on Instagram, two weeks back, that her father was one of the positive test subjects. She did not specify whether her father was one of them, but said: ‘Thank their respect for science that they’re all vaxxed, otherwise they’d be way worse.’
He hasn’t revealed whether he had been vaccinated. His family isn’t revealing if he died in Nashville at home or in the hospital.
Three weeks ago, Meat Loaf shared with a fan that he had recently undergone an endoscopy. He complained of seemingly interminable lockdowns.

They will not stop you from contracting COVID. They are a nuisance that can make you itch, making it difficult to breathe.
“Oh, God,” said the reporter. He’s controlling us all,” he responded, “Yeah. I’m aware.” I am not. “If I die I will die. But I won’t be controlled.”
Sources informed TMZ that he also opposed vaccine mandates in Australia. He agreed with Eric Clapton and Van Morrison in their anti-lockdown post Stand and Deliver.

His hit single, I’d do anything for love (but I won’t), reached number one in 28 different countries and was awarded a Grammy Award. The Rocker played Eddie in The Rocky Horror Picture Show’s 1975 musical.
According to a Facebook statement, Meat Loaf (US singer), who had hits like Bat Out of Hell, died at the age of 74.
