Her daughter revealed that Naomi Judd, Country Music Hall of Famer, killed herself using a gun.

Naomi, a Kentucky-born singer for The Judds, was the mother Wynonna (and Ashley) and died on April 30, at 76. She had been battling mental illness since childhood.

Ashley, who was visiting Naomi’s Tennessee home on the day she died, recalled her last moments with her mother.

Ashley stated that “it was a mixed-day.” “I was visiting my mother at her house every day and she asked me if I would like to stay.” And I replied, “Ofcourse I will.”

An actress entered the yard to welcome a relative. The actress went outside to greet her friend and then found her body. 

Ashley said, “I went upstairs to tell her that the friend had been there. And I found her.” She shared, “I feel both grief and trauma after discovering her.”

In sharing details about Naomi’s mother’s death, the actress said that she was entitled to Naomi’s dignity, privacy, and would not reveal any additional information.

Ashley stated, “When talking about mental illness it is important to distinguish between the loved ones and the disease.” “My mother was aware that she had been seen, and was heard crying out for help. She was then walked home. 

Ashley explained that mother “could not hang on” until her peers inducted her into the Hall of Fame. “That’s the extent of the catastrophe she was experiencing, as the barriers between her peers’ regard and her own heart couldn’t allow the lies the disease was telling her to penetrate her soul.
