After revealing that she showers only 3 times per week, a woman has ignited a heated debate.
Mumsnet is a British parenting forum. The woman, who was not identified, explained that she only showers on two of the three days that she has to go to work and one extra day.
After a friend complained about not having enough time to wash her children because of her young child, the mother stated that she didn’t do daily laundry even though her kids are older.
The woman explained that although her day isn’t filled with strenuous exercise, she can shower after she has been to the gym.
The woman didn’t take a shower every day, which was either positive or negative. Some commenters even claimed that people with a bad habit of washing their hair daily can smell’musty.’

According to her, she was not sedentary and didn’t feel the need for a shower all of the time.
She revealed how she came across the conversation topic by saying that she was drinking with friends, some of whom have kids and others who do not.
“One friend mentioned she struggles to find the time for a baby shower each day,’ she stated.
I replied: “Well, you don’t have to shower with a little baby every day.” My friends all looked at me with horror. Evidently, even those with children shower every day.
“Full disclosure, I have 2 daughters (one under 5 years old) and work part-time. My showers are on the workdays plus an extra one, meaning I do it three times each week. On my days off, I usually spend time at home with the dog and sometimes walk to school. If I exercise/have sex/on periods, etc., I’d shower more.

Some people thought that it was disgusting to not wash your hair daily and suggested they’d be able tell if someone hadn’t shaved their legs.
I bathe my children 3 times a week. He showers more often than I because my other half is at work every weekday.
Some commenters were shocked by her inability to wash her clothes every day, but her explanation was not accepted.
A person stated that he thought three showers a week was quite grim. Every day I take a shower. To be honest, I don’t know how to get up in the morning without a shower.
A second commenter said the same thing: “Twice daily for me, three times when I’ve been to the gym or gone for a swim. The same goes for my husband.

Commenters were confused that anybody would ever shower without a reason, and called the practice ‘wasteful.
One third of respondents said that they shower every day. A person who showers every day isn’t someone I would like to be close with.
However, other commenters were more supportive, saying that the shower is unnecessary if you aren’t dirty and don’t use it.
One person commented, “I don’t shower every single day.” It’s so wasteful. Showers were not a common feature in generations past, including my parents. And they certainly weren’t messy.
“It’s one of those first-world things people have taken up.” It is completely unnecessary.
Another person piped up, saying: “That’s fine. You don’t need to shower if you don’t have any smell. Only thing that I can say is, wash your body with water following a period or poo.
And a third person agreed, saying: ‘There is nothing wrong with showering three times a week if you don’t need a shower on the in between days.’
