Rapper A$AP Rocky has been arrested for allegedly shooting a man on a Hollywood street late last year.
Police arrested the performer, whose real name is Rakim Mayers, at Los Angeles International Airport Wednesday morning on charges of assault with a deadly weapon.
Outside the LA residence, officers were seen smashing down the gate with a battering-ram before raiding the house.
Reports say that detectives worked diligently to find the perpetrator(s) in the Nov 2021 shooting. The victim sustained minor injuries.
Mayers can face up to one-year imprisonment, a $1,000 penalty and misdemeanor supervision if he is convicted. California Penal Code. According to reports, one of the bullets touched the victim’s left arm and the victim sought treatment.
Mayers, along with two others, who were reportedly walking alongside Mayers, fled the area after the shooting.
Police worked with the victim to determine Mayers’ identity as a suspect.
Police arrested the rapper with the help of Immigration and Customs Enforcement. For filing consideration, the case will be brought to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.
