An abandoned embassy building not far from the Beckhams’ London townhouse is up for sale for around £25m.
Although the former Algerian Embassy was closed for over ten years, it has now been described as an opportunity for someone with deep pockets to make a move.
This five-storey, Italianate-style building from the 19th century is found in London’s Holland Park.
It’s close to the homes of David Beckham and Victoria Beckham and Stella McCartney fashion designer and Simon Cowell music mogul.

The luxurious building in London’s Holland Park is on the market for an estimated £25million

An open-plan living space with wooden floors can be made into a relaxing, comfortable area.

The property also has another room that needs to be renovated, which is housed in a hole in its carpeting and worn curtains.
The renovation is almost 10,000 sq ft in size, which can be daunting for those who take on this project.
Savills however, has provided a list of many potential benefits. The property has a sunlit, south-facing yard, historic features such as fireplaces, cornicing and the strong artistic heritage of the area.
Currently Price On Application, it is understood to be on offer for around £25m.
It was first put on the market in 2017 for £30m but has so far failed to sell – possibly due to the huge potential cost of its renovation.
However it could be worth more than £50m if turned back into one family home.

The large living room features a fireplace, a wooden parquet floor, and a circular fireplace.

In keeping with the building’s history as an embassy, it has an elegant hallway.
The agents provide a blurb that states: “Benefitting form a south-facing garden which favorably bounds Holland Park Mews. The property has been an Embassy for approximately 43 Years, but it has not been used actively for this purpose since 2011.
“The property requires full renovation, however it can be transformed and restored to a beautiful single-family dwelling subject to approvals.”
She continued, “The area’s famous landmarks include grand stucco homes, avenues lined with trees, communal gardens, private and public parks, as well as Holland Park.

Victoria Beckham is not too far from the house and posts regular updates via Instagram in her London home

A famous fashion designer poses on a staircase that is very similar to the one being offered for sale by the Embassy Building.

Its exterior displays the home’s distinctive Italianate style, which was popularized in 19 century.
The property is only a short distance from The Belvedere Restaurant. The famous Japanese Kyoto Garden is nearby, as well as the Walled Spring Tulip Garden.
The areas surrounding Holland Park and Notting Hill have been well-known for their cultural vibrancy and strong artistic heritage. They are home to many trendy shops as well as a variety of restaurants and cafes.
It is located within easy walking distance of the Notting Hill Gate Underground station and Holland Park Underground Station, which provide Central, Circle, District Line and Circle services. This property can be found at approximately 350m, 850m, respectively.

Overgrown weeds and grilled windows dominate the rear of the property.

While the back of this property needs a lot of work, there is huge potential to be renovated.
Nearby superstar neighbours to the embassy are the Beckhams, who bought a near-identical £31.5m property in 2013.
However the villa needed so much work they didn’t move in for another three years while builders gutted it and interior designers got to work in an £8m upgrade.
You will find a huge basement, spa, gym, and top-floor man cave for David, ex-england football captain.
Victoria claims that her walk-in wardrobe includes an electric clothesrack and runway to test outfits. She also posts a lot of pictures from the house on Instagram.
Stella McCartney resides a short distance away, while Simon Cowell divides his time between Holland Park & Los Angeles.
