The BBC’s Party At The Palace started Saturday night with Queen and Adam Lambert giving a breathtaking performance.
Adam, who took the place of lead singer Freddie Mercury, appeared on stage in front of a row of Palace officials playing drums and began belting out We Will Rock You for their opening number.
The 20-year anniversary came after Brian May, guitarist, performed God Save the Queen on Buckingham Palace’s roof in 2002 during a celebration of the Golden Jubilee.

They’re back! This was 20 years ago, when guitarist Brian May played God Save The Queen at Buckingham Palace’s top during a 2002 show to mark the Golden Jubilee.
A sweeping, black jacket featuring gold stitching was worn by the singer at 40. It was paired with black trousers, a shirt and black trousers as he took to stage.
During their opening number, Brian May incredibly appeared up from behind a golden stage on a huge platform as he rocked the guitar solo while Roger Taylor put on an incredible show behind the drums.
The band began their set with a great rocking beat. They then moved on to singing Don’t Stop Me Now. This got 22,000 people cheering and clapping.
Kate Middleton seemed impressed by the performance of Don’t Stop Me Now and was seen singing in Royal Box, alongside her family.

Lee Mack was then invited to take the stage as host of a presenting segment. Here he humorously paid tribute to Freddie and got the crowd to cheer ‘ayo,’ before inviting the Royal box.
DJ Jax Jones was the next singer to take to the stage and performed Instruction, with a special appearance from 10-year-old Nandi Bushell on the drums.
He then welcomed Mabel to the stage, who stunned in a yellow jumpsuit as she belted out Don’t Call Me Up alongside a crew of backup dancers.
He concluded his set with a performance of Where Did You Go?, with Jax playing electric guitar on a podium above the stage while dancers dressed in yellow performed below him.
Elbow performed One Day Like This, which got everyone waving and singing along.

Next up was Diversity, with Ashley Banjo kicking off the performance with a spoken word segment as the dance troupe paid tribute to The Beatles in their first routine.
The dance number followed the influence of music through time, with the group putting on a disco-inspired performance to Night Fever by the Bee Gees.
Ashley then got the crowd clapping along to One Direction’s What Makes You Beautiful before celebrating Britain’s musical subcultures – including rap and grime music – in a complex dance routine.
Ashley finished their segment by saying, “Where pop music will go from here? I’m excitement to see,” before Craig David took the stage wearing a bright blue tracksuit.

The singer, 41, did not fail to capture attention in his glittering ensemble as he belted out party anthem Ain’t Giving Up.
The DJs followed him as he did Re-Rewind, before getting everyone dancing to Fill Me In. A London phone-box projected behind him.

As celebrities paid tribute to Her Majesty’s 70-year rule, there was an amusing montage that was broadcast ahead of the Jubilee party.

Dolly Parton addressed the Queen and said: “Thanks for everything, You have been an amazing person and a bright spot in the world. Everyone loves and respects you. I am so proud of you.
While Michael Buble stated, “I wish Your Majesty an endless supply of love and joy.”
Geri Halliwell also gushed. Our Queen is kind, loving and strong. She serves our nation, the Commonwealth, unites us all, puts others first, which makes you truly inspirational. We love her.
Amusing: Before the concert began, the Queen hilariously hosted a sketch with popular children’s character Paddington Bear, after her 007 sketch at the London 2012 Olympics
Sweet: The adorable moment saw Her Majesty enjoying tea and cake with Paddington, who wished her a ‘happy Jubilee’ and offered her his thanks before the show kicked off
Shirley Ballas, who sweetly described the queen as the “epitome” of girl power in a separate segment paid tribute.
‘Seventy years she has served our country, she is the epitome for me of girl power! She said that she thinks she is a very cheeky person with a wonderful smile and a demeanour that make you feel at ease. “I am proud to be British thanks to her.
George Ezra admitted that he was nervous before taking the Jubilee stage.

During Saturday’s concert, Charles and William are preparing to deliver public tributes at the concert to the Queen, who will be watching on television from Windsor.
