Aldi’s Jo Malone-inspired Super-Size Candles for Christmas has been relaunched by the company.
The German supermarket chain, whose copycat versions of the luxury retailer’s famous scented candles have won them nationwide praise, are selling a 2.5kg version of the fan favourites for £24.99 – £305 less than Jo Malone’s luxury candle.
While the luxury £330 version boasts a burning time of 220 hours at 2.5kg, Aldi’s budget replica says it burns for 270 hours.

Aldi’s Hotel Collection Hurricane Candles come in four scents, Lime, Basil & Mandarin, Pomegranate, Sweet Almond and Macaroon, and this year shoppers can also get their hands on the seasonal winter scent Velvety Rose.
Aldi told FEMAIL: ‘Just in time for cosy winter nights in front of the fire, Aldi’s Hotel Collection Hurricane Candles make the perfect gift this Christmas, and are in stores now for a whopping £305 less than that of Jo Malone.
Although the candles are now available in-store, Hurricane Candles are not available online until December 2. They are anticipated to sell quickly.
Aldi has re-released its £3.99 version of Jo Malone’s £44 candles (and they’re already for sale on eBay for three times the price)

In March 2017, Aldi launched a range of £3.99 candles in three of the same unique scents as Jo Malone’s, the luxury label’s 200g candles costing £44 each.
Not only did the selections of lime basil, mandarin, and freesia noir have the identical names, they also came in similar packaging, which included a clear glass holder with waxed white and two candles wicks.
At the time the German supermarket chain claimed that the candles – available in Pomegranate Noir, Freesia & Pear and Lime, Basil & Mandarin – smelled just like those from the luxury brand Jo Malone and demand has remained so high that they’ve made the limited edition candles a permanent fixture on shop shelves.
The store spokesperson stated in 2017 that the customers had loved luxury candles since the launch of them in March. We’ve listened to customer feedback and are looking forward to seeing the candles back in store, permanently.’

Later that year Jo Malone hit out at the ‘creative laziness’ of budget retailers who continue to launch copycat versions of her trademark products.
When asked how she feels about Aldi and Primark copying her perfumes, candles and diffusers in recent months the 53-year-old said: ‘You have to really protect yourself, that’s where the lawyers come in. I think people that mimic, it’s laziness – laziness instead of creativity because they can’t come up with it themselves.’
The mother-of-one, who sold her company to Estee Lauder for ‘undisclosed millions’ in 1999, added: ‘I find it is frustrating and it’s sad, because what could they create with all their money and their power? This is not the end of the story.
‘It just goes to show you, with creativity, you’ve got to keep moving on, keep pushing on, and don’t worry what’s going on behind you. You keep focused on moving forward, it’s just part of life but yeah it’s sad.’
Miss Malone’s whose heightened sense of smell has made her a millionaire, said that her delicate nose has led to her family calling her ‘the bloodhound’.
