Today, the NHS revealed that more than 200 000 Covid vaccines were distributed on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and Boxing Day.

Officials expressed gratitude to staff and volunteers, who gave up their time over Christmas to assist others.

Sajid Javid, Health Secretary said that he wanted to express his gratitude to the NHS staff members and volunteers for their efforts over the weekend in getting jabs in the arms. If you’re yet to get your booster, do not delay – get boosted now.’

On December 25, eight mass centers, which were responsible for completing Britain’s rollout backbone, opened along with some walk-in locations. The majority of the over 3,000 locations that gave jabs across England weren’t opened until today.

Over 12s in the UK have received 32.4 million booster doses. This is equivalent to 56.5 Percent.

There are 37.5 million English people who were double-jabbed in the last three months. They are now eligible to receive their booster. That means 10.2million are still eligible but have not come forward.

Boris Johnson has set a target to give 1 million jabs per day to boost 2million adults every day by Friday. This would allow him to reach his goal of giving up to 2million top-up jabs each day to increase the number of people in England.

Millions of Covid-positive people will not be able to get vaccines as they must wait for 28 days after their positive test.

Nearly 12,000 people were vaccinated for Christmas Day. This includes more than 10,000 boosters. Approximately 20,000 Boxing Day jabs were additional doses.

Instead of administering every booster by deadline, the NHS stated that the NHS was aiming to only offer one booster per year to all adult patients.

Boris Johnson stated earlier in the month that anyone 18 or over who is eligible for a boost will be able to do so before New Year’s Eve.

England’s Covid hospitalisations hit highest level since FEBRUARY

Covid hospital admissions in England hit the highest level since February on Christmas Day, according to official figures laying bare the threat the NHS faces from Omicron in the New Year.

NHS England released data today showing that 1,281 patients with coronavirus infection were admitted to wards in December 25th, up 74% from a week ago.

But the same grisly data, which reflects how the ultra-infectious variant has triggered spiralling infection rates all across the country, also shows daily hospitalisation figures in Omicron-hotspot London are still below the crucial figure thought to be No10’s trigger point for imposing fresh England-wide restrictions.

It comes as Boris Johnson today boosted hopes for New Year’s Eve celebrations as he avoided unveiling any fresh restrictions ahead of the last social hurrah of 2021, despite holding crunch talks with his chief scientific advisers Professor Chris Whitty and Sir Patrick Vallance.

According to reports, the Prime Minister leans towards new guidelines urging English citizens to limit their socializing and be more careful than to impose legally binding restrictions like those in Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland.

But his afternoon meeting – which gave him a glimpse of the true scale of Omicron’s festive spread after two days of no publicly available data – brought no imminent announcement to move England into line with the other home nations.

Redbridge Town Hall, which was home to more than 900 immunized people on Christmas Day made it the most crowded site in the nation. On Boxing Day, it delivered approximately 800 vaccines.

Dr Seedat (a site GP) said, “I’m delighted that Redbridge Town Hall saw the greatest number of people in England come forward to have their vaccinations. It protected them and their loved ones from Covid. And credit to everyone, particularly those who worked behind the scenes who gave their time for London safety.”

The Londoner, who may be eligible and has not yet vaccinated should book or come in to one of many city vaccination sites.

On December 25, Vision Pharmacy, Leicester and Rusholme Pharmacy Manchester were the most popular sites. They administered 417 jabs and 244 respectively.

A family of six from Sussex headed by Allison, chief nursing officer, gave out over 200 Covid injections.

Allison said: ‘It was fantastic vaccinating people on Christmas Day and over the most wonderful time of the year – the atmosphere on the day was lovely with people really grateful to get the top-up in protection and thankful to NHS staff for giving up their time over Christmas.

“We are really proud, as a whole family, to have participated in the historic vaccine campaign. We hope to help save many lives from coronavirus. However there are still jabs that need to go into the arms. Our family will continue to volunteer and play our part. The public must also take part and get the vaccine.

Over seventy-seven percent of eligible adults in England received a booster shot, with half the over-30s being invited for a third.

Dr Emily Lawson, head of the NHS Covid vaccination programme, said: ‘I want to say a huge thank you to all the staff and volunteers who gave up time with their families over Christmas to protect others – as these figures show it was time well spent.

“But, if you are too busy over Christmas shopping, wrapping, or visiting with family and friends, please book now.

“There is still time to book 1.3 million appointments between now and the week ahead, so you can go online and make an appointment.

It is fast and easy to get Covid insurance.

“We understand that Omicron protection is not as good as two jabs. We recommend you get a booster immediately if you qualify.

According to Mr. Javid, “It was because of our life-saving vaccinations, treatments, and testing that I was able to visit my loved ones this Christmas weekend.”

The enthusiasm shown by the nation for COVID-19 vaccines was overwhelming, in particular the 214,000 individuals who drove all the way on this weekend just to have their vaccination and be protected from Omicron variant.
