Fans of Sex And The City have praised Miranda Hobbes’ LBGT-sexual awakening in the episode of And Just Like That… where she had a sizzling moment with bisexual Che Diz.

Watching episode 3, entited In Rome fans have been praising the storyline. They declared that they were ‘happy she’s finally out’, and also admitted they felt ‘tearful” when they saw the sex-positive scene.

This moment occurred after Miranda had hinted that her relationship with Steve was getting stale earlier in the episode. Charlotte, in Starbucks, told Miranda she’d been thinking about whether or not they are just roommates and said that they’d never had sex since years.

The scene was clearly a tribute to Miranda’s heavily hinted alcoholism. However, Che also saw her engaging in intense conversations once inside the club.

Che stands by Miranda as the two characters and then asks Miranda if Miranda would mind if they shotgun her. It involves smoking a joint while blowing into somebody else’s ear.

This resulted in a charged moment between both characters. Viewers noted that it was Miranda’s gay awakening.

The story follows Carrie, a widow, as she attempts to deal with Big’s heart attack. She also has to face one of her exes to learn more about Big. 

Carrie is in mourning and begins recording the woke sex podcast she did with Che Diaz (Sara Ramirez). Although she acknowledges that these have been tough weeks, she’s comforted by her knowledge that she was “never happier” than during her last weeks with Big.

The emotional situation soon turns tense, however, as it transpires that Big has left his ex-wife Natasha Naginsky £1 million in his will. 

Big famously shocked SATC fans in season two when it was revealed he was engaged to 26-year-old Natasha (Bridget Moynahan) having known her for just five months. After Big’s marriage ended, Carrie began an affair with Big. This led to a heated showdown among the rival love interests. 

With a shocked Carrie struggling to process the news, the executor of the estate muses that in his experience money is usually used to put an end to any ‘unfinished business’, leaving the ladies reeling. 

Carrie and Miranda have a meeting that sparks talk of the scandal. For lunch, Charlotte York (Kristin Davies) and Stanford Blatch (played by Willie Garson).

Carrie is still questioning why Big kept this plan secret. Miranda, however, can be seen searching desperately for the wine that she ordered. This adds fuel to her claims that she has an alcohol problem. 

Carrie, then disparagingly: “I can’t believe that.” Big has vanished, but Natasha is here.

Carrie, back in New York, tries desperately to gain access to Big’s laptop, searching for clues as to his decision. Charlotte, however, is busy reading stories to Rose Swinton (Alexa Swinton), and admits she doesn’t like being called a girl. 

Rose (12 in the reboot) admits that she doesn’t feel “like a girl” and Charlotte attempts to calm the situation with the statement, “I sometimes don’t feel like I’m a girl too!”  

The following morning, Charlotte meets with old friend and Stanford’s husband, Anthony Marentino (Mario Cantone) to discuss Rose’s confession, with Anthony noting he should just ‘ignore it’ and move on, dismissing the notion as child-like fantasy.

Carrie, despite all the controversy surrounding Rose’s gender identity and Big leaving money for Natasha, is trying to figure out why. After a futile search through his belongings she decides to send Natasha an email.  

Carrie tells Miranda that it was not easy. The sixth stage is stalking. She expresses her frustration that Miranda has yet to reply and adds, ‘I cannot sleep in this apartment any more. It’s haunted. He, she’ before following Natasha on Instagram to DM them – but were immediately blocked. 

Carrie has no other means of reaching Natasha so she enlists Miranda to help her hide and follow Natasha around her office to find out if they are still in contact or if Big is having an affair. 

While Carrie waits across the street, Miranda and Charlotte discover Miranda has been hoarding small bottles of alcohol and that Steve (David Eigenberg) is having marital problems. Miranda also admits she hasn’t slept with Steve in many years.

Carrie is forced to leave the room after being blown off once again at Natasha’s office. 

Carrie, who is still not able to relax the following morning, tells Miranda she’s mad at Big. These are the things I am left with after all these years. Our happy ending was ruined by him. 

Carrie goes on a long walk to get her head clear. Carrie ends up stopping at a coffee shop for a quick bathroom break, and accidentally bumps into Natasha as she uses the bathroom.

Following the confrontation, Natasha responds with an inveighful statement: “At coffee shops? What is my job? Carrie! What the f**k do you want from me?’ 

Carrie begs Natasha for a conversation. Natasha, who was previously furious, reluctantly accepts her place. She reveals that she now has two children, and doesn’t want Big’s money. 

Natasha says she doesn’t understand why Big got married to her while he was in love with Carrie. Carrie speculates that this may be his way of making amends for the affair.

With Carrie finally having had the closure she needed, she takes the girls out to watch boss Che’s standup routine, in which the comedian discusses her struggle with her gender identity as well as her sexuality – which seems to strike a chord with Miranda. 

Carrie, Charlotte and Miranda are in a taxi back to Charlotte. Charlotte confesses that Miranda has been drinking to Carrie, which Carrie quickly dismisses. 

Carrie returns to her rent-controlled brownstone apartment in the episode’s final minutes. “I walked…” home.’
