The Ashes begin in Brisbane’s early hours Wednesday morning. England will be looking for their first victory in Test cricket in Australia in more than 10 years.
This victory was achieved in Andrew Strauss’s 3-1 series win in 2010-11. It marked the end of an era in which Australia had not experienced such a wet summer.
Joe Root’s side has reason to be optimistic with wet weather. The ball is expected to swing and sew more than usual in Australia. But, rain could also wash out some parts of the Test.
England must get off to an excellent start in the first day of their World Cup campaign. The toss takes place at 11.30 GMT, before England gets started at 12 AM.
