Lara described the entire process. She initially planned to take two weeks to make the cake. But, she was able to shorten her time by emulating a preexisting condition.
She spoke in TikTok videos four days before Christmas.
‘I suffered from a condition for my entire life, that caused me to feel a little sick. It took 12 days to get it done. That was okay, because I probably could still do the job until four days ago, when I began feeling unwell.

“I did a Covid test, and the results were positive. The good news was that I could continue working on the cake as it was only for display.
‘However I was relying on friends and family to look after the kids while I did the cake because it’s the school holidays which obviously they can’t do now, because I had to isolate. He is also key worker so I had to return today.
‘I am feeling a little bit better than I am yesterday so I am going to try and crack on with the cake but I have absolutely no idea how much i’m actually going to get done’.
An internal frame was used to cover the cake with slabs and chocolate ganache. Finally, modelling chocolate was added.
