The celebrations of England’s European Championship win were not over yet.

Germany was defeated 2-1 by the Lionesses on Sunday in Wembley Stadium. Goals from Chloe Kelly and Ella Toone were crucial.

The win by Sarina Wiegman’s team against old foes was the first major trophy ever in English women football, and also the first for men or women in English football since 1966’s World Cup.

Manchester United star Toone, however, shared a photo on social media showing her wearing a red England bucket cap and the trophy along with the gold medal.

Toone apologised for not replying to the many message of congratulations she'd received

Toone expressed her regret at not responding to many of the congratulations she received.

Toone added, “Not ignoring people am having a fun time,” followed by Champagne, England Flag and Love-heart Emojis. Love Inc. was playing in the background. 

Kelly posted another picture on her coach, showing herself in an England cowboy cap and smiling next to Lauren Hemp, while she held onto the winning medal.

Captain Leah Williamson’s Instagram account, meanwhile, featured Georgia Stanway in the dressing room, followed by Toone singing with Status Quo’s ‘Rockin’ All Over the World’.
