On their return from Christmas shopping, two of their best friends died in a crash that caused a car to collide with them.
Ellie Crossley (20) and Rebecca Doughty (20), were returning from buying presents for family members when the tragedy occurred.
The crash at the A5117 bordering England and Wales, near Mollington in Chester on Thursday last week is being investigated by police.
According to officers, Ellie and Rebecca, also known as Becca, were returning home from Flintshire in a silver Citreon that collided at 9.28pm with a blue BMW.

One tribute was written by the families of both girls: “Ellie Crossley from Holywell and Rebecca Doughty from Connah’s Quay were lifelong friendships.
“The two girls were 20 years old and were returning from Christmas shopping when tragically they were involved in an accident on the road.
Both families, as well as their friends were left devastated and they will be greatly missed.
“Close friends, for their brief lives, we will always have them in our hearts.”

Both were friends for life and on the way back from Christmas shopping, when they collided.

The police have asked for witnesses as well as dashcam footage from the accident which shut down the roads for many hours.
A 28-year old man driving the BMW was taken out of the vehicle by firefighters, and he was later admitted to hospital with very serious injuries.
Cheshire Police reported that inquiries into the collision were ongoing. They are looking for witnesses or any other dashcam footage.
