Birmingham woman, 52-year-old, was found dead in her home by her husband after locals raised concerns.

After a body of a woman was discovered in a Birmingham house, a man was arrested for murder.

The property was entered by police at 10.15am Friday morning after fears were expressed about the owner. 

West Midlands Police confirms that the body was of a 64 year-old woman found in the home.

The 52-year-old suspect was initially arrested at the scene under suspicion of murder. He remains in custody.

Investigations are continuing and an examination post-mortem will be conducted on Saturday. 

Force CID Detective Inspector Hannah Whitehouse stated that they are conducting house-to-house investigations and would appeal to any person who has seen anything unusual or made contact with an occupant of the property to let them know.
