After a search warrant was executed by the police, a man was taken into custody and over 50 homes were evacuated.
The discovery was made by officers at 11.30am in Normanton (Delaware).
According to a spokesperson for Derbyshire Police, the man who was taken into custody on the spot is still in police custody.
According to police, more than 50 homes were evacuated from King Alfred Street, Monk Street, and Wolfa Street.

After a series of unusual items were discovered in a Derbyshire house, police said that a man was arrested. More than 50 houses have been evacuated.

At 11.30 a.m. today, officers responded to a call from Normanton in Derbyshire. They also attended a bomb disposal unit.
Photographs from the scene depict the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Team as well as a variety of police cars at the location.
Residents were asked to avoid the region.
According to a Derbyshire Police spokesperson, “Those who have been evacuated will be contacted once it’s safe to return their homes,” he added.
Derby Telegraph eyewitness: “I woke up about 9:30 am and thought I was dreaming. But I swear I heard somebody shout “Get down, get down”, but I convinced myself I was dreaming.
“But then I went down and had breakfast. Then, when I opened my bin to place something in it, the bomb disposal unit was there and a officer at my door.
“It is pretty crazy. This is not the kind of thing you’d expect to see on Sunday afternoons.
A witness stated that the neighborhood is quiet and the majority of residents are students or families.
