Carrie Johnson has proved her environmentally-friendly credentials once again after opting to use an ethical British brand for her daughter’s Moses basket.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson and his wife Carrie today revealed the name and first picture of their newborn baby girl, which showcased Romy Iris Charlotte Johnson in an adorable carrycot.
The couple are using a Natural Knitted Moses Basket from the Little Green Sheep, based in Stratford-upon-Avon, which currently costs £124.95 but is usually priced at £144.90.
According to the company, the product was originally picked for Romy’s big brother Wilf, Boris and Carrie’s first youngster together. Their little girl is at least the Prime Minister’s seventh child.
Romy, one week old today, was pictured in the natural palm leaf basket, which is finished with a 100 per cent organic cable knit liner, alongside Wilf, who was seen peering over the side while next to the Downing Street Christmas tree.

The brand claims that the Moses basket promises little babies, from birth to 4 months old, the best sleeping environment.
It also suggested that the natural palm leaf basket is light, making it easy to pick up and move around the house, while also being ‘tough and durable’.
The baskets come complete with a chemical-free mattress and an organic, ‘breathable’ cable knit liner.
Mark Nicholls from The Little Green Sheep was the Marketing Director and stated that Wilf had been chosen for the item. Although Mr Johnson’s role is demanding, it was nice to see parents taking the time to choose the best environment for Wilf.
The couple chose Romy to pay tribute to Carrie’s aunt Rosemary. They followed the lead of Prince Harry, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry by choosing a relative’s name rather than their actual moniker. This is what the Sussexes did for Lilibet.
Carrie said in an Instagram post (pictured) today: ‘Welcome to the world darling Romy. November 9, 2009 at 09:02
Iris comes from the Greek word Iris which means rainbow. This is an allusion to the fact that the newborn is called a rainbow baby’ – a stillbirth, miscarriage or stillbirth child.
She has a second middle name to honor Charlotte Johnson Wahl (Prime Minister), who died earlier this year.
Rosemary, who is thought to have been Carrie’s sister Josephine McAfee (a former lawyer) formed a bubble together with Carrie to care for Wilf as a newborn.
This image depicts the full facial expression of the baby, while Carrie (33), and Boris (57) covered most of Wilf’s face with a blanket for his first picture. They only shared photos of the toddler behind the camera.
When Mrs Johnson announced her pregnancy, August 2009, she illustrated the post by showing a photo of a Christmas tree ornament in the form of a pram.
Carrie Johnson and Mr Johnson, 57, were pictured at their wedding. They had Wilfred in April 2013.
Carrie posted today, via Instagram, “Welcome to Romy the World Darling.” This baby was born on December 9th at 09:02 AM.
“RomyIris Charlotte Johnson. Romy is named after Rosemary, my aunt. The Greek word Iris means rainbow. Charlotte in memory of Boris’ mum, who we love so very much.
She said that Wilf had been playing with Romy’s matchbox cars, giving her big kisses, and stroking Romy’s hair.
Carrie paid tribute to the NHS staff that helped her deliver Romy. She described University College Hospital’s maternity unit as “amazing”, adding, “We are so, SO grateful.”
The Prime Minister named Romy earlier in the day during a tour of the vaccination centres.
When asked by Kent’s Prime Minister if Carrie and him had picked a name, he replied: “She’s going to be called Romy.” He said, “She will be named Romy.”
The birth of their baby girl, Mrs Johnson, was announced by Mr. Johnson and Mrs Johnson at the London Hospital on 9/12.
According to the Prime Minister, he was present at the birth.
After the birth, the couple and their baby girl returned to Downing Street this week.
According to a spokeswoman, the mother and her daughter both are doing great.
“The couple would like thank the amazing NHS maternity staff for their support and care.”
According to the environmentalist, the couple had already announced that they would be having their second child at the beginning of July.
In August, Carrie was praised for revealing a miscarriage in her announcement that she is expecting another baby.
She said that her wife, the Prime Minister, chose to openly discuss the loss she had suffered as she found it comforting to talk to people who have also been through similar losses.
She announced the news via Instagram and added that she hoped others might benefit from it.
Boris was the ex-PR chief for Tory, and she said they were hoping to have a rainbow baby together this Christmas.
Rainbow babies are a baby born into a miscarriage, stillbirth, or neonatal death-free family.
