At least one British patient has died from the Omicron coronavirus variant, Boris Johnson revealed today.
Despite claims it is more mild than previous strains, the Prime Minister cautioned against complacency.
He said this during a trip to Paddington West London’s vaccination clinic.
“So the idea that it is somehow milder, but still a virus,” he said. We need to put that aside and acknowledge the speed at which the virus accelerates throughout the population. We can only do the best we know how to get our boosters.
Sajid Javid, Health Secretary, revealed earlier that Omicron has been used to treat at least 10 Britons.
