Boris Johnson’s allies denied today that he had ‘thrown in his towel’ following being seen in Greece for another holiday. After this, removal vans appeared in Downing Street.
Senior Tories insisted the PM is ‘still working’ despite being seen lounging at a restaurant called The Aegean in Karistos.
Exclusive photographs obtained by MailOnline showed the PM waltzing around the eatery which looks out onto the stunning River Beach and the Aegean sea, while earlier in the day he was spied shopping for groceries with his wife Carrie in Nea Makri, a coastal town close to Athens.
Stanley Johnson is Mr Johnson’s father and he has a villa just a short drive from Horto.
According to footage posted on Greek website In., the couple purchased wine and other supplies from a local grocery store. After picking up his purchases at the store, the premier packed them into a bag and then loaded it into a black SUV.
Following their honeymoon in Slovenia, the Johnsons travel to Greece is a quick getaway for the Johnsons. The couple are enjoying their second vacation while they deal with rising energy costs and inflation.
Two trucks were seen parked at No10 in Westminster. Aides confirmed that the work for the “transition” to the next leader was continuing. Rumours have circulated that the Johnsons were looking for a home to call their own in Dulwich Village, south east London.
The PM is allowed to take away any of the furnishings he paid for himself as part of the controversial revamp of the residence over No11 – which could even include the £800-a-roll gold wallpaper.
Labour joked that Johnson was laughing at Britons suffering from a high cost-of living crunch and called him a “lame duck” with only weeks to go before his replacement by Liz Truss (or Rishi Sunak).

As Mr Johnson’s term ends, boxes were being removed from the iconic building.

While the Prime Minister was spotted in Greece with his wife on their second vacation in just two weeks, Britons are still suffering from the cost of living crisis in Britain.
Brandon Lewis, a former minister to the Cabinet, insisted that the PM is still at work regardless of whether he’s in the UK or overseas.
LBC spoke to Mr Lewis about the fact that he was working even when he wasn’t in Downing Street office.
He stated that he was probably only in his second week. [of]Holiday in the past year, or more recently? Certainly this year. They will continue to work even if they’re not there, regardless of whether they’re secretary or prime minister.
“I can guarantee you that he will still go through his inboxes. He will also continue to address national security matters where applicable. However, the Prime Minister does not have to be out of town.
The PM’s spokesman said he has no official engagements this week as he is on leave but would be involved if any urgent decisions arise.
According to a spokesperson, the Prime Minister was away this week.
“As with prime ministers because you know they have a role, they will obviously be kept in touch on urgent issues and take actions that are particularly relevant to national security.
He stated that the PM would of course participate in any urgent decisions. But, the Deputy Prime minister (Dominic Raab), is available to deputize for meetings if they arise. As far as I know there aren’t any such meetings scheduled at this time.

While filling baskets of food with groceries, Carrie, the outgoing premier, was photographed shopping with him.

Johnson did not attend, and it was initially thought that Mr Zahawi or Mr Kwarteng would be leading the discussions.
The PM was joined by Business Secretary Kwasi Kwarteng and Chancellor Nadhimzahawi, as they grill executives of electricity and gas companies about the rising prices.
Already stuggling families were last week stung by new forecasts that showed energy bills for typical households are set to soar to more than £4,200 next year.
Johnson did not attend the meeting with the 15 energy companies. In fact, Mr Zahawi was previously believed to be the ministers that would take the negotiations forward.
While the Bank of England forecast the worst UK recession since 1990s, the premier of the Bank of England was enjoying a belated honeymoon at the Vila Planinka alpine region of Slovenia.
The resort is situated about half an hours from Slovenia’s capital Ljubljana.
Local media reported that he had a great time. We have climbed all the mountains, jumped into lakes and been on bikes. It has been a great time.
Downing Street believes that Mr Johnson will now be acting in a temporary role as caretaker, following his resignation.
This message was repeated by the PM to energy bosses last Wednesday, informing them of’significant fiscal changes’ that would be taken by his successor.
No 10 refused to comment on Prime Minister’s vacation in Greece.
