Boston woman reveals how her Apple AirPods accidentally got swallowed after mistakenly thinking it was a painkiller.
Carli Bellmer (27 years old) shared a TikTok clip of her sobbing when she realized she had made a mistake. She had just popped what she thought was an ibuprophen into her mouth, and then washed it off with water.
She eventually took the AirPod out of her body, as confirmed by an Xray.
But she insists that she is not the only person who has made such a techincal error, saying: ‘I’m not the first to do this and I definitely won’t be the last, so for educational purposes, I wanted to share my journey.’

Whoops: A Boston woman has revealed how she accidentally swallowed one of her Apple AirPods after mistaking it for a painkiller

Carli Bellmer (27 years old) shared this video in which she was sobbing after taking an ibuprophen and cleaning it off with water.
In her original video, which TikTok has removed for an alleged violation of community guidelines, Carli — a podcaster and esthetician — is hysterically crying soon after the snafu.
‘So like, I ate my f***king left AirPod,’ she says. ‘I tired puking it and it won’t come out, and I’m f***king losing my mind.’
She explains in followup videos that she was just crawling to bed at the time of the switcheroo.
“I carried an ibuprofen in my one hand. The AirPod was also in my hand. So I decided to try the ibuprofen. I did so, but it was too hard. I looked down and saw that I had the ibuprofen in me.

“I carried an ibuprofen in my one hand. The AirPod was also in my hand. When I got home, I tried to take the ibuprofen. But it was too difficult to swallow.

She stated that she needed to tell her phoen to “forget” the AirPods because they would automatically pair with her stomach’s one.
Carli called the doctor, and went to work as always. But, she told her doctor to let her phoen forget about the AirPods. It would continue automatically pairing with the one she had in her stomach.
Once they were disconnected, she was surprised to get a notfication on her iPhone that an unidentified AirPod was detected moving with her.
Carli had to patiently wait until the AirPod passed through her stomach. It did. An X-ray was taken to “make sure.”
It was clear to me that I had passed it. I did not retrieve it, but I know that it’s passed. “I know it was there in my stomach, but no longer,” she said.
She also revealed that she accidentally sent a voice memo to a friend — from inside her stomach.

It’s out! Carli had to just wait for her AirPod to get through her digestive system, and it finally did. To’make certain’, she had an X-ray.

A voice mail she accidentally sent to a friend was also disclosed by her.
Before making her iPhone “forget” it, she recorded a voice note on a friend and sent it to her.
She didn’t know that her AirPod was in her stomach, but instead she heard sound coming from her body.
You can hear her speaking, however the sound is muffled.
Although Carli has been open about her story, critics wonder how this could have happened.
“How can you mix ibuprofen with an AirPod?” I asked one.
Another said, “My throat barely permits me to swallow any pill much less an AirPod omg.”
At least one commenter came to her defense, pointing out that an 800mg ibuprofen pill — which equals two regular doses — are ‘huge so they sora resemble an AirPod if you’re distracted.’

Although Carli has been open about her story, critics wonder how this could have happened.
Carli showed us how her AirPod bag looked with just one AirPod, and one ibuprohen inside. The ibuprophen is significantly smaller than the AirPod.
Many others have come up with funny jokes about Carli’s mishap.
One called it “An Apple a daily”, and another said that it was “iBupurofen.”
Others suggested Carlie created a new fear in them. While others said she could have used the AirPod to play music inside of her.
