Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro has reported that his condition is improving after being admitted to hospital with an intestinal blockage Monday morning.
The 66-year-old is under observation at Vila Nova Star Hospital in Sao Paulo, with medics saying Tuesday that he has no fever or pain and managed a short walk.
The medical team said that he was fitted with a feeding tube because he had difficulty eating. However, they did not rule out surgery.
Bolsonaro’s most senior doctor, Dr. Antonio Luiz de Macedo told Brazilian media the president is having problems with his intestinal health after he was stabbed in his abdomen during 2018.

His doctors said that President Jair Bolsonaro is improving after suffering from a blocked intestinal. He has not been in pain or fever and was fitted with an IV feeding tube.

Macedo explained that Bolsonaro is very sensitive to the digestive tract and can become stuck with food and blockage.
Bolsonaro also had a similar problem over the summer. He was admitted to hospital for two-three days until the blockage resolved itself.
Macedo stated that Macedo had reported Monday’s return to hospital by the president after he experienced pain and vomited following his lunch.
A post on Bolsonaro’s social media accounts revealed the pain began after lunch on Sunday, prompting an overnight evacuation flight from the beach resort of Santa Catarina – where he spent the New Year – to Sao Paulo, a journey of 300 miles.
Bolsonaro, who was shown in bed giving a thumbs-up, was also included in the post.
Dr Macedo was then summoned, and arrived around 5am on Tuesday.
Bolsonaro was knifed during a campaign rally in 2003, causing serious damage to his intestinal system and internal bleeding that required four additional surgeries.
He was hospitalized in July after suffering from persistent hiccups that lasted for 10 days. This was due to his gastro problems.
After Sunday lunch, I felt sick. He tweeted that he arrived at hospital at 3:00 a.m. today after being admitted to Vilanova Star in Sao Paulo.
“They gave me the nasogastric tubes, which are a tube that allows food and medication to be carried to the stomach via the nose.”

Bolsonaro’s current condition can be attributed to the wounds that he received during 2018 elections campaign, when he was repeatedly stabbed in his stomach while leading a rally.
“They’ll be doing additional exams to decide whether I need surgery,” he said.
Bolsonaro’s offices said that Bolsonaro was doing well. Brazilian TV Globo featured images showing Bolsonaro unassisted walking from his plane to meet his entourage.
Bolsonaro had a medical team that said he suffered from an “intestinal Subocclusion,” which is essentially a partial blockage in the intestinal tract.
“He is stable and undergoing treatment. We will be reevaluated during the morning,” his doctors declared in a statement.
“At the moment there is no forecast to his release.
Bolsonaro’s former surgeon, Dr. Antonio Luiz Macedo, who is currently on vacation in The Bahamas, will be arriving at 3:00pm, according to the president.
Macedo stated to UOL that the president would go through a series of tests.
Bolsonaro was anointed at a campaign gathering by a man found psychologically unfit to trial, just a month prior to his election as president.
Bolsonaro was slapped in the stomach by the attacker.
As the politician was going to shake hands with his supporters while being carried by one of his supporters, the attacker rushed over and inserted the blade in his abdomen.
Bolsonaro could be seen in pain clutching his stomach and collapsing.
Although he would have normally worn a bulletproof vest from the federal police, the then-candidate chose to skip protection.
