MasterChef viewers were not impressed Tuesday night by Channel 5’s announcement of the celebrity winner, before the show aired.
This year’s first festive instalment of the competitive cookery show saw stand-up comedian Judi Love crowned champion, taking home a coveted Christmas golden whisk.
For those unfortunate viewers who tuned into Channel 5 News at 7pm and then switched to BBC1, the cat was out of the bag.

One disgruntled viewer posted on Twitter: “Wow @channel5_tvnew for telling me who won Christmas celebrity masterchef prior to it being broadcast #idiots,”
Another person wrote a series of angry emojis in anger to vent his frustrations.
Another used humor and wrote: “Thanks for sharing who was the winner of celebrity masterchef before it even happened!” #someonesintrouble’.

Judi stated that being named Celebrity MasterChef’s festive champion in 2021 was a Christmas miracle.
Television personality Joey Essex beat Oti Mbuse (Strictly Come Dancing pro dancer), Neil Ruddock (ex-footballer) and Su Pollard for one of the two gold whisk trophies this year.

Impressive: Judi said being crowned the Celebrity MasterChef festive champion for 2021 ‘made her Christmas’
Judi, the fifth Celebrity to Be Eliminated from Strictly This Year, was awarded BBC One’s Celebrity MasterChef Christmas Cook-Off. It featured a Caribbean-themed Christmas Dinner.
A stuffed rolled turkey breast with jerk seasoning was served to the 41-year old. It was accompanied by parsnip puree and carrots as well as stuffing and roast potatoes. Gregg Wallace praised it for being ‘nothing less than fantastic’.
The actress presented the challenge for a two-hour and fifteen minute time period. She also made a Jamaican Christmas blackcake with sorrel sauce, a stout and raspberry rum punch ice cream, and John Torode said, ‘I love that.

The stars went through an invention challenge earlier in which they were required to develop a recipe using seasonal calendar ingredients.
Judi, Loose Woman’s star said that she was ready to bring the Prosecco so we can start the party. It’s so exciting, and my family is going to be happy.
“I feel overwhelmed. This is such a wonderful feeling. I have made my Christmas.”
Tough: Stars were put to the test by an invention task where they had create a meal using seasonal ingredients (pictured Su).
Gregg was impressed by Judi’s ‘fun, joyous’ cooking. John Torode stated that Judi retained the soul and spirit of the planet she grew up in the dishes.
Gregg commented that Judi had put a lot of effort into the two recipes. It was a joy and a pleasure to cook with her familiar Christmas ingredients, adding Caribbean sunshine.
“It was an outstanding formula that worked, and it is a winning one.”
John said, “Judi retained the heart and soul of the planet she grew up in and her recipes were fantastic.” She is a great cook.
Another highlight: Joey from TOWIE was eager for rave reviews to his Yorkshire puddings.
Festive special: Oti said it was ‘overall a lovely experience’
The Yorkshire pudding is for me the most important attraction. So why not have a large one! The Toby Carvery does them! Gregg and John laughed at him.
Oti stated that it was an ‘overall pleasant experience’. Su replied, “It’s back on the streets for you!”
Neil, reflectively stated that she tried her best in cooking but was ultimately the winner. It’s an honor to be crowned the winner.
On Thursday 23 December, BBC One will air the Celebrity MasterChef Christmas Cook-Off. Another celebrity group will compete for the golden whisk.
