Embattled anchor Chris Cuomo responded to his termination from CNN over his ‘conduct with his brother’s defense’, saying he was disappointed in the network’s action but remained proud of his team.

Cuomo wrote Saturday evening, “This does not reflect how I would like my time at CNN end.” “But, I already explained to you how and why I helped my brother.

“So now let me just say, as disappointed as this may sound, but I cannot be more proud to the Cuomo Prime Time team and the great work that we did in being CNN’s number one show in the most competitive timeslot.

Cuomo acknowledged he owes and will remember his team as he battles a sexual misconduct accusation.

CNN announced Cuomo’s termination Saturday, stating it was ‘effective immediately’ and followed an investigation by an outside law firm into how exactly the star anchor aided his brother, Andrew Cuomo, then-governor of New York, try to fight off a sexual harassment scandal this year.

CNN has reportedly ‘terminated’ embattled anchor Chris Cuomo effective immediately. The network made the announcement in a Saturday statement

Cuomo, 51, issued acknowledging his axing Saturday in a public statement expressing regret in his part of the scandal - but asserted that he was only helping his brother, who was forced to resign in August due to the allegations

Cuomo (51), acknowledged Saturday’s axing in a statement acknowledging that it was done. He also expressed regret for his role in the scandal, but claimed that he was just helping his brother who had been forced to resign due to the accusations.

The network released a statement on Saturday saying that Chris Cuomo had been temporarily suspended in order to evaluate new information regarding his participation with brother’s defense.

“We hired a respected law office to review the matter and we have fired him.”

An attorney said to the New York Times, despite it not being mentioned in CNN’s statement that her client had alleged prior sexual misconduct against Chris Cuomo.

Debra S. Katz, a prominent employment lawyer who also represents one of Andrew Cuomo’s accusers, said that the allegation against Chris Cuomo was made by a former junior colleague at another network, and was unrelated to the Gov. Andrew Cuomo matter.’

Additional details regarding the allegations are not clear, such as which network Chris Cuomo worked at when the misconduct occurred. Cuomo’s spokesman denied the claim, saying: ‘These apparently anonymous allegations are not true.’

CNN’s statement cited only Cuomo’s ‘conduct with his brother’s defense’ in its decision to terminate the anchor.

According to the statement, Chris Cuomo was temporarily suspended during this week’s evaluation of additional information regarding his participation in his brother’s defence.

CNN informed Cuomo on Saturday that he had been fired after accumulating a number of documents and texts pointing out a grave breach of network standards.

In an announcement released Saturday afternoon, the network revealed that more information had come to light during its internal investigation into the anchor - which is still ongoing

The network announced Saturday afternoon that additional information was discovered during an internal investigation of the anchor. This is ongoing

Cuomo, 51 years old, admitted Saturday that he had resigned and said he regretted his role in the scandal. However, a spokesman for Cuomo stated that despite his regret, he only wanted to help his brother.

After stints with Fox News and ABC, Cuomo began his career at CNN in February 2013. He rose through the ranks to be selected as Cuomo Prime Time’s host in March 2018.

According to certain estimates, Cuomo made $6 million annually.

Cuomo Prime time, his 9pm program, was the highest-rated CNN broadcast. It drew an average of 774,000 viewers during November, when it ranked No. 25, among all cable TV news programming – ranking right after Anderson Cooper’s.

However, the network saw a 19 percent bump after Cuomo was suspended Tuesday and Cooper filled in. Cuomo was suspended Tuesday and Cooper filled in. The network did not indicate who would be his permanent replacement.

Cuomo’s dramatic downfall occurred less than one week after transcripts and exhibits were released by New York’s Attorney General’s Office on Monday. These documents showed that Cuomo had been more involved in the political affairs of his brother than originally thought.

Letitia James of New York was the New York Attorney General. Her investigation revealed a previously unknown trove text from Cuomo and his brother’s advisors, detailing how they would deal with allegations about sex predators.

Incriminating text evidence revealed that Cuomo was far more involved in the political maneuverings of his brother than he admits – which showed that Cuomo was in fact working unpaid as an aide for older brother Andrew.

CNN announced Tuesday’s Cuomo suspension by stating that the newly released Attorney General findings “shed new light” on Chris Cuomo’s role in brother’s defense.

‘The documents, which we were not privy to before their public release, raise serious questions,’ the statement read.

“When Chris confessed to us that he gave advice to his brother’s employees, we publicly acknowledged it. We also understood the special position that he was placed in, and appreciated his desire to prioritize family and work.

“However, we now know that these documents show that he was involved in more of his brother’s activities than we thought. In light of this, Chris has been suspended indefinitely and is awaiting further evaluation.

James’ office has released text messages and transcripts that show the unhonest nature of Cuomo’s relationships with several of Cuomo’s brothers’ aides. It shines light onto how Cuomo used media contacts and his position to help his brother prepare for the public as his accusers began to publish their stories.

Also, the documents showed that his brother helped him to write official responses to the accusations.

CNN’s brass stated Monday that additional exhibits and transcripts would be added to the document release.

The anchor was suspended a few days later.

Cuomo stated that his brother had resigned on August 24th.

Cuomo on-air attested to not having reported the sexual harassment scandal nor interfered with CNN’s coverage.

Instead, the anchor stated that he’d ‘tried being there for my brother’ and not more.

I’m not an adviser. “I’m a brother.” It was not my decision. “I was present to hear and give my opinion,” he stated at that time.

Cuomo’s testimony to James’ office said that James was the only person Cuomo had spoken to about the charges. It was for him to plan what would happen next and how he would inform his 90-year old mother.

Cuomo insists that he didn’t try to influence CNN’s coverage about his brother’s politics. It would quickly be discovered if he did.

Chris used family as a basis for his testimony.

Chris said, “This is my brother. I am trying to help him through this situation. He has already told me that he didn’t do anything wrong.” “And that was it. What can I do to protect my family’s health? How do I protect him? He probably should have thought more about protecting himself, but that just hasn’t occurred to him.

Cuomo also used the contacts of his brothers to learn what reporters would be reporting next, including Ronan Farrow, New Yorker. Cuomo stated that the idea of one journalist calling another in order to learn what was coming down is business as usual.

Cuomo said that he never told anyone at CNN about his plans to contact other journalists in order to learn more information about Farrow.

Chris claimed on the air, March 1, that he was aware about the accusations against his brother after another woman made it clear to him.

He said that he couldn’t report on the matter.

“Obviously I know what’s going on with my bro,” he stated.

The text messages and transcripts released by the James' office reveal the unethical nature of Cuomo's relationships with several of his brother's aides and allies, shining light on how the anchor used his position and media connections to help prepare his brother and his political team as accusers started to make their stories public

“It is not possible for me to cover this because my brother is involved.” CNN must cover this. It has been extensively covered by CNN and they plan to continue doing so.

Then he left, thanking his audience for their honesty and being straight with him.

According to him, he cared deeply and passionately about the issues.

After several weeks of uncomfortable handovers, Chris decided not to talk about the news at all – it was big then – but his co-hosts did.

CNN reported that Cuomo was planning to work with his brother’s aides when it first came out of The Washington Post in May. However, CNN did not sanction him.

A spokesperson for CNN said that Chris confessed to us that he gave advice to his brother’s staff. “But, we appreciated his unique situation and could understand his need for family and work first.
