Coolio, rapper has been sadly taken from us at the age de 59. 

The musician – famous for his hit song Gangsta’s Paradise on the soundtrack of the Michelle Pfeiffer film, Dangerous Minds – was visiting a friend on Wednesday afternoon when he was found dead according to TMZ.  

Coolio was found unresponsive on a bathroom floor, with the paramedics – who were called to the scene around around 4 PM – suspecting he suffered a cardiac arrest, according to the star’s longtime manager, Jarez.

Coolio died on the spot, according to the newspaper. A cause of death official has yet to be determined. 

TMZ was also informed by law enforcement officials that Coolio died without any drugs or paraphernalia. An autopsy will then be performed to establish the official cause of Coolio’s death.

According to police, a death investigation has been opened. However, there are no signs of foul play right now. The coroner will make the final decision after an autopsy.

Josefa Salinas was his ex-wife and six children. He married her in 1996. They split in 2004. 

Pfeiffer (64), led tributes to Coolio, sharing Coolio’s hit song Gangsta’s Paradise from the iconic 1995 film. A tragic loss of life.

“As many of you might know, I had the opportunity to work alongside him in Dangerous Minds 1995. His brilliant soundtrack song won him a Grammy – I believe that was why our movie saw such success.

Additionally, law enforcement sources shared that 'no drugs or drug paraphernalia were found at the scene of Coolio's death' and that 'an autopsy and toxicology test will be used to determine an official cause of death'; Pictured 1995

Coolio recently performed at Riot Fest 20,22 at Douglass Park in Chicago, Illinois on September 18.

Just four days ago, he posted his Texas performance to Instagram.

He also looked healthy at an airport in Sydney earlier in April, where he graciously took photos of fans ahead of the Luna Park concert.

Gangster’s Paradise, a wild song, was recorded by this eccentric singer in 1995. The song reached the top of the charts in Australia, the United Kingdom, France, Ireland and Australia.

It was the single that sold six million copies in total worldwide. The song is from his 17-track, Grammy-nominated and Platinum-selling Album of the Same Name.

Coolio also provided the hit song and won a Grammy. He was also awarded two MTV Video Music Awards, for Best Rap Solo Performance and Best Video From a Film, as well as a Billboard Music Award.

A singer who used religious undertones to his lyrics said that the tune was a result of a spiritual calling.

Coolio stated, “I had some vulgarities… and he was not with that.” Then I made it better. He thought it was amazing after hearing it.

Pfeiffer was seen reprising her role as the director of the music video.

Coolio couldn’t replicate that success and was not able to gain much recognition for the song “I’ll CU When U Get There”.

He became a chef later and released a cookbook titled “Cookin’ with Coolio”.

A talented actor, Coolio played in dozens of films and TV shows throughout his career, and had three movies in the works according to his IMDb page: Bobcat Moretti, It Wants Blood 2, and a TV movie Vegas High.
