Newport Crown Court heard that the couple, Newport, Gwent residents, were in a relationship for five years and had a “sound future” together before they were caught by police.

He explained that there had been many discussions about expensive future vacations. They were motivated by greed.

He added that searches of Greenland’s address revealed cash and designer clothes with high values.

Fryer explained that they were seen in a Volkswagen Golf left outside of a block. A man then came up to the car, and then left.

He said that officers quickly realized there was a drug deal. A large sum of money was found.

The court heard officers also found three bags of white powder, a Nokia mobile phone that the women had tried to conceal in the car, and an iPhone.

Officers analysed Mr Fryer’s phone to find references about how much the two were earning from drug deals, according to Fryer.

Both of them admitted to possessing cocaine with intention to supply, being interested in cocaine’s supply, and having criminal property.

Kevin Seal, an attorney for Greenland, stated that the women were afflicted by addiction and used drugs to cover a large debt.

Nicholas Gedge of Barrington stated that “She is an intelligent young girl.” Friends and family highly praise her.

Judge DJ Hale described the women's (Barrington pictured) motivation as 'shared greed'

Judge DJ Hale said to them, “You had been in a relationship for about five years.” You both had good jobs. Your household income from those jobs together was over £60,000-a-year.

“You were able to build a strong future with your partner, but now you are wasting it all through shared greed.”

“If you weren’t caught by chance, you’d have carried on doing what you’re doing.” Increased debt. This was because you had debt. However, you understood the consequences of putting your customers in debt.

You are two strong young ladies. You have wasted a young woman’s future.
