Victoria

Victoria also reinstated the 72 hour self-isolation rule for international visitors.

Each arrival must be issued an International Passenger Travel Permit and pass a PCR Test within 24 hours.

Between the sixth and seventh days after their arrival, they must pass another test.

Travellers who are not vaccinated must stay 14 days in quarantine.

Sources close to the Government claim that the Victorian Government is considering increasing quarantine in certain settings and introducing mandates for masks.

According to sources, new health orders could be made as soon as Monday. These orders are also likely to be announced by territory and state leaders throughout the country.

Queensland

There has been some doubt about whether Queensland will reopen state borders after 80% of residents are fully-vaccinated.

It was anticipated that the Sunshine State would reach its target between December 6th and 12, just weeks prior to Christmas.

Peter Aitken, Queensland’s deputy chief medical officer, stated that he was unable to guarantee that the border would be opened without quarantine.

If they go to hotspots across Victoria and NSW, travellers could feel isolated.

Steven Miles, the Deputy Premier, stated that “nothing is different at this time”.

According to him, “So far, nothing has changed at this point, but people need to be assured that our cautious and well-prepared approach will continue,” he said Monday.

“Our staff are the most competent in the country. They will closely monitor our situation and provide us with advice.

Queensland is currently considering removing quarantine from domestic travelers who are fully vaccinated if 80 percent of state residents have been fully vaccinated.

Once 90 percent of Queenslanders have been vaccinated, the government will eliminate quarantine.

International visitors are now required to enter hotel quarantine. Returning travellers from open border states must be admitted into home quarantine.

Western Australia

Premier Mark McGowan shut down his state’s borders in South Australia Saturday evening in a drastic effort to stop the mutation. It also allows visitors from NSW or Victoria.

Only South Australians who have been vaccinated are allowed to enter WA. After that, they will be required to go into quarantine for 14 day.

McGowan explained that the “new variant” emerged in Southern Africa. It is now believed that it has been found in Europe and Asia.

“With very little information about this variant, we need to be cautious when dealing with the potential spread of disease into WA by overseas travelers arriving in WA.

Roger Cook, WA Health Minister, was worried about the possibility that travellers from overseas could travel to South Australia and not be quarantined if they were coming from Victoria NSW Canberra.

“South Australia’s looser border policies have seen an increase in infections from other States and, while there has not yet been community transmission,” Mr Cook stated.

No approval is required for travellers coming from NSW to travel into WA.

Visitors from NSW who are approved for entry to WA must be able to self-quarantine within 14 days in any’suitable premises.

 South Australia

South Australia tightened its border regulations after the Omicron variant was introduced.

Quarantine will again be necessary for all international travelers and those arriving from Australia’s highest-risk regions.

Three days prior to traveling to the state, travelers from moderate or low-risk Local Government Areas must be tested for Covid-19.

This was less than one week after the state opened its borders to the public last Tuesday, for the first time since months.

With travellers from NSW, Victoria, and the ACT arriving to Australia for the first time, more than 30,000 have submitted applications to the state.

While the state will only accept fully-vaccinated visitors, those who are not vaccinated may apply for exemption. These applications will be reviewed on a case by case basis.

ACT
