But unlike the cupboard where the boy wizard sleeps in the fictional fantasy series, this cluttered roof dwelling is real and now being advertised to rent for £800 per month after the landlord reduced the property, which was initially listed at £949pcm.
The cramped conditions found in the space, located only five minutes away from Fulham Broadway underground station, are shocking photos.

Because the bed is only accessible by a ladder, it has been likened to Harry Potter’s “cupboard under the steps” because the bedroom space that’s located on a wooden mezzanine has a small area.
This tiny house has a brick wall with no decoration to add a rustic touch to its three other white walls. Storage solutions have taken over any space that is left.
It is packed with appliances, clothes, and features exposed bricks along one wall.
The most disturbing feature is the wooden bunk-bed-style structure that has been built towards the ceiling. It was intended to serve as the bedroom.
You can access it by climbing up a ladder. It leads to an alcove under the roof that houses a couple of boxes and a bed.
According to the advertisement, a bathroom and toilet can be found in another part of the building. The small shower area is also available.

ACORN Housing Campaign Group criticized the proposed letting. A spokesperson for ACORN stated: ‘This cramped “flat” – or should that be “flat”, is shameful.
“This property is not suitable for anyone to call home and live in, so the landlord must feel embarrassed for not only letting it out but also for the excessive rent.
“As long our housing system is built upon the pursuit of profits, such things will continue to occur as greedy landlords attempt to make a buck by renting out unfit properties.
Many people on social media were shocked that the landlord was charging £800 for the studio apartment, with one user on social media likening to the ‘Harry Potter cupboard’ because it is so ‘small’

A housing campaigner on Twitter added: ‘£800 per calendar month to live in a space up under a roof?’
It was also criticized by another critic for looking like a Harry Potter closet.
