A couple have given their tired end-of-terrace home a new lease of life in a stunning £200,000 makeover.

Children’s intensive care nurse Reese and his partner Paul bought the three-bedroom property in south east London for £400,000 in 2016 and have spent the last five years transforming it into their dream maximalist pad complete with dark colour schemes, plush furnishings and bold wallpaper.

A large extension was added to the rear of the house for the kitchen and dining room. This opens on to a new landscaped yard with two distinct seating areas.

The couple, who live with their miniature dachshund Izziem, shared their makeover journey on Instagram, racking up more than 100,000 followers in the process.

Living room before. Paul and Reece from South London have amassed over 100,000 Instagram followers after sharing their jaw-dropping renovation of an Edwardian house they bought in South East London. As you can see, the previous living room had old laminate flooring and dated furniture.

Living room after: The living room is now stylish and cosy with a plush rug, statement light and a rich teal velvet sofa, curtains and a dark blue colour on the walls. They've added gold accents in the furniture and light fixtures

After the transformation of the living room: This is how it looks now. The furniture has been given gold accents.

Before: This was the third bedroom. The couple decided to convert the tiny upstairs room into a bathroom and lost the little box space. The property before the renovation. It was dominated by one bed and very little storage.

New bathroom: The couple made the bedroom into a spacious bathroom complete with clawfoot bath, monochrome pinstripe wallpaper and clashing tiles - injecting glamour with a chandelier

It is nearly impossible to recognize the facade. The house was transformed using white paint, shutters and a black door.

To begin, the couple converted their third upstairs boxroom into a bathroom. It featured a clawfoot bathtub and monochrome pinstripe wallpaper. They also added glamour by adding a chandelier.

They then swapped the old laminate flooring and drab curtains and furniture in the sitting room for Ted Todd flooring which they snapped up in the sale at £900 instead of £4,000 and added a plush rug, statement light and a rich teal velvet sofa, curtains and wallpaper.

Reece was a minimalist and clashed textures to match his maximalist tastes.

The bedroom, dubbed the ‘cloud room’, features sky-inspired wallpaper  and a quieter nude theme – with the most ‘expensive piece’ a £4,000 Heal’s bed he found on eBay for £350.

With black wallpaper and wall art, the spare bedroom has a darker theme.

This black theme continues in the hallway painted with monochrome chic tiles and paintings.

The facade has been transformed into something almost impossible to recognize: white paint and shutters were used, as well as a door with a black lock and new walls.

The back is also painted in black. A decrepit outhouse has been replaced by huge French doors, a magnificent kitchen and large French doors.

The formerly neglected back garden now boasts  two sleek outdoor seating areas with a paved pathway leading to a grass area, tranformed by Reece and costing around £8,000.

It’s hard to miss: Unrecognisable, the black theme continues in the hallway and painted stairs. Full of monochrome chic artwork and quirky tiles that give new life and character to an otherwise empty space (pictured above and below)

The bright, airy kitchen features a traditional cooker as well as a marble worktop with a gold tap. It leads onto a bar area and lounge.

Reece spoke in his blog and said that he started @littleedwarian_73 an Instagram account to help with home renovations. I had no idea I’d get 500 or even 10,000 followers.

I’m not an interior or design designer. Since the beginning of my professional career, I have been working as a child’s transport nurse and an intensive care nurse for children for 7 1/2 years. My job is very enjoyable, but I’m also creative.

His inspiration was revealed when he said that his passion for interior design began at a young age. Growing up, I was inspired by my mother’s curtain design skills. She made curtains for many of her clients.

Overgrown: This formerly neglected backyard had plenty of space, but very little else for the trendy homeowners.
