After taking a tumble in her routine, Liberty Poole was sent home by Dancing On Ice 2022.

Joe, the Love Island star, and Tippy faced off in Sunday’s skating contest. However three of four judges decided to move the former through to week six.

Unfortunately, viewers found it disappointing that Liberty had been sent home to beat Bez. Bez performed a weak routine and received a score just 19.5; one person wrote that Liberty’s departure was ‘absolutely ridiculous. It isn’t a skating contest.

Ashley Banjo stated that it was difficult to watch both the male and female performers. Although it was close, I decided to go with Tippy and Kye’s performance. 

Oti mabuse said that she voted for Liberty but supported Liberty saying, “I wish both of your success.” The performance that I felt was the strongest, which I consider to be Joe or Liberty, is what I will vote for. 

Jayne Torvill stated: “It’s close at this stage, but I loved the best performance is Kye or Tippy.” 

Christopher Dean, a head judge said: “Tonight I went power-and-passion and that’s Kye & Tippy.”

Love Island’s star received a 28-point score, which is her highest ever in this competition.

Christopher said to Liberty that her skating routine was impressive. But he pointed out Liberty’s skating skills needed improvement, saying that she had the exact same expression when she went down as her beginning.

Oti said, “For me it’s performance.” Do your best to improve this. 

Ashley stated, “Your steps surprised me.” It was amazing to me that you could do this. You fell on the rollercoaster, but you still made it to the top.

Holly, her Dancing On Ice cohost Phillip was happy to see Holly again during Sunday’s episode. 

Phillip was able to return to Dancing On Ice host duties after missing the previous week due to coronavirus testing.  

Holly, eager for Phillip’s return to the stage, exclaimed at Sunday’s start: ‘Welcome Back Phil!

Holly and Stephen Mulhern were the step-in hosts of last week’s DOI.

Phillip was replaced by Stephen on Saturday. ITV released the following statement: “This Sunday’s Dancing on Ice episode will be hosted Holly Willoughby, Stephen Mulhern and Phillip Schofield continue to isolate.”     

The first on Sunday’s programme was Brendan Cole with his professional partner Vanessa Bauer.

Both skated to Madness House Of Fun with an impressive score.

Ashley scored the couple 8 points, while Oti gave them 8.5. Christopher was a little lower. Jane elevated the score to 9.

Christopher commented, “You’ve missed an amazing opportunity to have even more fun.”

Brendan shared his experience: “I found that when I had fun, I would throw myself off.”

Next on the ice were Kye, Tippy and a few others. Kye was determined to keep up his performance after he won last week’s skating competition.

Kye backstage said, “Last week I was hard, and I was angry at myself.”

The crowd was not pleased with the 28.5 they were given and cheered when Kye’s and Tippy’s awards were made.

Jane said to them, “What you have to do is to think about the transition from the previous piece.” You must maintain your position.

Ashley said, “Fight for your goals every single time. Make sure to push.”

Sally and Matt followed, with Sally revealing that they would perform to George Michael’s Faith. Sally also shares a personal story of meeting Matt in the 1980s. 

“He visited and I show him Coronation Street. He was a great guy who came in the 80s. Sally explained, “I want to do this for George.”

His efforts on the ice won him a 26.5 score, which is Sally’s highest score in the series.

Oti stated to Sally that she was like a “new woman”. Sally, I’m in love with you. Confident, sassy, cheeky. This is how you should behave.

Christopher stated that it was easy to follow, but the steps were successful and were matched together. The brief was fulfilled.

Ashley said, “I’m proud of you for that,” Jane added, adding, “It’s wonderful to see your confidence returning.” I know you can do this, so let’s continue to see.

Kimberly and Mark skated next. The former Pussycat doll had earned the highest show score a week earlier. 

The pair performed a tribute to 1940s detective cinema and danced to Billie Eilish’s Bad Guy.

Holly noted that the judges awarded them an impressive 36.5 score. Holly also said: “You continue to challenge yourself and keep going.”

Ashley stated, “It is the way that you guys listen to music and let the music dictate what you do next. Your guys are what excite me most.

Oti said to the skaters, “Every week you come here and you get worse.” 

Stef Reid put on a tear-jerking performance, skating to Des’ree’s Kissing You in honour of her husband Brent Lakatos, with her stunning routine earning her 34, making her score the highest of the series so far.

Oti stated to her that she couldn’t believe the improvement in her. This is so inspiring, and you are growing each week.

Ashley said, “This is why this show I love.” If you listen to her perform it, the best show is all about what she does. It is so inspiring to watch you. 

On Sunday, Bez shared his passion for bees, explaining that he was going to be be a beekeeper and Angela would be be a honeybee. As the queen bee is the one that kills males after mating, I don’t hope to be a queen.  

The star added, “Beekeeping is something I have been doing for the past eight years. He even revealed that he once “left his zip open” before caring for the bees.

Bez, dressed in full beekeeper attire, took to the ice and put on an entertaining performance. However, he lost his balance at the end and fell.

Phillip jokingly said, “It ended up having a tail in its tail,” while Christoper stated: “I think you have been on honey tonight.”

Ashley said, “Don’t let this get you down. Come back next week to make up the difference.” 

Also taking inspiration from the animal kingdom was Regan Gascoigne, who celebrated his love of reptiles with a high-intensity routine choreographed by his partner Karina Manta.

Their routine earned  Regan his highest score of the series so far, however was not best pleased as he came off the ice, telling hosts Holly and Phillip: ‘It is really slippery, you catch one foot, you go off.’ 

Janes assured him that he had some off-balance moments but it was a great experience. 

Oti continued: “It’s beautiful even though you have high standards. Your speed on the ice is amazing. It was incredible.  

After injuring his shoulder last week, Connor Ball joined the rink as an assistant. Not only did Connor need stitches, but The Vamps bassist also dislocated his shoulder.

Connor received 32 points. 

Ashley explained to Ashley this week that it was a challenge. You should realize that the steps sequence is not quite right. I’m eager to help you get your best self back.

Christoper stated, “There was a little concentration on you face. Bring Connor home next week.

Oti stated to Connor that she wants more commitment and rock and rolling. 

Jane and Christoper did a spectacular routine to Frank Sinatra while the votes were being counted. This prompted cheers among the crowd.   

Phillip commented on the Olympians performance, stating that “our couples will be feeling very anxious right now”, as results time approached.

Holly said, “It’s time to determine which couple will be competing in the skating competition.”

After the show ended, it was revealed that Liberty and Kye would fight for next week’s slot. The former was sent home shortly before the end of the episode.
