After Ghalib was sentenced, PC Paul Ashworth, of Greater Manchester Police, said: ‘We are committed to making the roads of Greater Manchester safer for everyone.

“This means that we will have to take legal action against those who risk putting other people at danger.

“This example is one of many actions we take every day in order to make roads safer.

‘Ghalib’s actions behind the wheel that day were unacceptable and irresponsible. With his careless driving, he put many people in danger.

“Thankfully no one was hurt and there is one less dangerous driver on our roads.”
