Fancy sleeping with David Beckham? The former England captain has co-designed ‘Suites by David Beckham’ at a hotel in Macao, the ‘Las Vegas of the East’.

Not only do the 14 rooms have a portrait of a brooding Becks on the walls — as well as one of his wife, Victoria, holding a camera — but the bed linen is monogrammed with his initials.

Part of The Londoner chain, the Chinese hotel says the suites, ‘reflect the best of the star’s discerning style and sophistication and feature the comforts he enjoys when travelling’.

Worryingly, perhaps, for the royals, the suites are promoted as more desirable than the Windsor ones, which cost £756 per night. Beckham’s are ‘by invitation’ only.

The kisser gets a smack from the icy side

Margaret, Duchess of Argyll, — played by Claire Foy in the BBC drama A Very British Scandal— failed to captivate Prince Philip’s uncle, Lord Mountbatten.

His daughter, the Queen’s bridesmaid Lady Pamela Hicks, has revealed that her father took the ‘dirty Duchess’ out for a drive.

‘She wanted an ice cream but he bought her a cornet,’ says Lady Pamela, 92.

‘He was so young — he had that terrible schoolboy sense of humour — and while she was putting the cornet to her lips, he put the brakes on. This beautiful face was covered with ice cream. She never spoke to him again.’

Boris is still waiting for Queen

Boris Johnson, when will she have an opportunity to personally apologize to Queen Elizabeth for hosting parties at Downing Street in the time before her husband was even buried?

Although Prime Ministers are allowed to meet with the monarch weekly, Boris is not permitted to speak to her Majesty for more than five weeks.

Although Prime Ministers are allowed to meet with Her Majesty every week, Boris Johnson is not permitted to speak with her for the past five weeks.

They had four telephone meetings last January.

Buckingham Palace declines to comment, but a royal source insists: ‘It is not unusual for there not to be an audience between the Queen and the PM at this time of year.’

Romance can be serious

Have you seen the Leftie comics that fell in love during the pandemic? I can disclose that former I’m A Celebrity star Shappi Khorsandi, 48, and fellow comic Mark Steel, 61, (left) are now a couple.

The two even celebrated Christmas together. A pal says: ‘They share the same sense of humour.’

Steel, an adopted child, learned that Joe Dwek, a Wall Street trader multi-millionaire and friend to the royals, was his father.

Super-rich tech moguls such as Steve Jobs and Mark Zuckerberg have partly credited their success to wearing the same outfit every day, so they don’t have to waste valuable brainpower on choosing clothes. The same is true for BBC presenter Monty Don, who is always seen in a rumpled navy blue shirt and colourful scarf on his programme Gardeners’ World. He explains to a viewer: ‘I have eight identical shirts — a week’s supply.’ Though when he was accused of always looking scruffy as a result, he quipped: ‘At least I am consistent.’

Jenson’s fiancée in a fun little number

Formula One champion Jenson Button’s fiancee, Brittny Ward, appears to be missing her former life as a Playboy model.

Following the birth of her son Hendrix in 2019, at 31 years old, Californian, she gave up modeling. Lenny was born to her and Hendrix the next year.

Now, she’s posed for a series of photographs by Button, 42, who retired from F1 in 2016. ‘Mama has worked hard,’ she jokes, boasting about her figure. They have been together since Jenson’s one-year marriage to Jessica Michibata ended in 2015.

Circus boss Cottle rewards betrayed wife in £5.7m will

The wife of Britain’s greatest showman, Gerry Cottle, once told him he was ‘not a proper husband’.

Betty Cottle suffered decades of the circus impresario’s womanising and cocaine addiction before they separated in 2001. Later, he moved in with Anna Carter of Carters Steam Fair. But, now, an apologies from above the grave.

Betty, who was 75 when he died last January from Covid, has been listed as a beneficiary of the will of Cottle. And he left an astonishing £5.7 million gross estate despite having been declared bankrupt twice.

His assets included elephants, baboons, and lions as well as circus paraphernalia. He had to frequently sell them. Betty will be given his part in Edward Seago’s valuable painting.

Recently published probate papers reveal that Cottle left assets such as Wookey Hole Caves which he purchased in 2003. Cottle was so fondly attached to Somerset’s tourist attraction, he made it his beneficiary.

Others to benefit include Cottle’s son, Gerry, and his three daughters, as well as his son-in-law Willie Ramsay, whom he wished to be ‘regarded the same as one of my descendants’. Ramsay taught Angelina Jolie how to act in the movie Lara Croft : Tomb Raider.

There is no way to know how much each beneficiary will get. Cottle specified: ‘In respect of financial sums that I would like to be paid to certain individuals, I express the wish that my trustees have regard to any letter of wishes stored with my will or with my papers at my death.’

Chat show host Alan Carr has revealed he’s stopped using Uber cars since a driver threw his beloved Irish setter, Bev, in the boot.

‘I haven’t been in an Uber for ages,’ the funnyman says. ‘They put my dog in the boot once and it p****d me off. I said: “Do you take dogs?”

‘He went: “Yeah,” and then Bev went in the boot. I said: “Get me dog out the boot.” It was like in movies when you kidnap people.’
